(1) What’s wrong with most of these things? And what’s wrong with having patterns of speech that includes the placeholder “like,” in the same way the rest of us use “um” without criticism? What’s wrong with make-up and skirts? And what’s wrong with using your phone to capture when you’re feeling sexy?
What’s wrong with dating casually, enjoying being the center of attention, or god forbid, liking things that are “traditionally feminine” (or not liking things that are “traditionally masculine” after spending our whole lives being told we’re not supposed to like those things)?
(2) Do any of us ACTUALLY know people like this? I mean, sure, you might say you know people like this. But how well do you know them? Do you honestly believe that if you got to know them better, you wouldn’t discover interests, hobbies, a past, a future, inhibitions, aspirations, fears, loves and more? You know, the kinds of things that give a person depth?
