I was waiting for that moment of familiarity… for that intoxicating smell, that calming feeling, that voice that brings me home.

I was waiting for that person who makes me feel entirely at ease just by his mere presence.

But I also understand that sometimes you don’t find that. 

Not to quote the Rolling Stones but, “you can’t always get what you want”. It’s true, you can’t.

But final part is what makes the statement from the song so powerful; “but if you try sometimes, you get what you need.”

I didn’t fix the broken pieces, I left them behind and learned to live without them.
