Learn to enjoy your own company. Alone isn’t that bad.
Again, this goes back to perspective. Some people view being alone as the worst thing in the world. But the moment you learn to sit with yourself and truly enjoy your company, that is the moment you gain empowerment.
I’m not trying to tell you to become a hermit crab and avoid people like the plague. But, you will probably start out a life where you live alone, and you will not have someone around you 24/7. That’s okay.
Take those moments of being alone to do things that you enjoy. Take a bath at midnight. Binge watch your favorite TV show while eating ice cream for dinner. There’s no one around you to pass judgement, and you are truly allowing yourself to be authentic in that moment.
Take the time to love you and make yourself happy. Do those things that truly make you whole. Who cares what others think about it? You enjoy those things, and that’s what matters.
Hang out with your friends and reconnect.
This may sound stupid. But, try being in a relationship for years where your friends and your husband don’t mesh. It turns into a situation where you either end up ditching your friends to appease your husband, or you can give him the big middle finger as you walk out the door to hang out with your friends.
Truly take the time to rebuild your friendships. You love your friends, and should desire them in your life. There’s nothing like having the support from your tribe.
