To The Guy Who Thought I Didn’t Deserve The Truth

You secure a woman’s love and devotion only to gradually discard it. My heart must have been a punching bag meant to exist for the release of anger and discontentment you hold internally.

You projected your emotional turmoil onto me and then blamed me as if I wasn’t good enough. I felt like I wasn’t good enough. My self-esteem was annihilated by the lies you told me and the lies you told others about me.

To this day, I can’t tell if I’m consumed by some of the good you’ve given to me or by all that you have taken from me.

Even though you parade around town unaffected and onto another conquest, you still feel the need to contact me.

I won’t respond and you should know why… It’s time that I pick up my pieces. It’s taken some newfound strength, but I know that even a box full of anguish can turn into a gift eventually. You promised the wedding, the Alaskan pup, and the little tots, but I much rather accept this as a lesson than deny it.
