You will realize what you had and I won’t be there waiting like I have before.
One day you may look back on how you trampled over the one who proved loyal and caring of your spirit. I made choices too.
Most of them led to me making excuses for the way you needed to be free to discover yourself in order to return. I now know that someone who truly loves you could never let you go. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and months turned into years of me enabling your hot and cold behavior.
The immense highs and immense lows filled the void. You deny the extent of the destruction you cause, but there will come a day when you understand the full picture and nothing will be able to soothe the ache of regret.
Eventually, you will be forced to look in the mirror and take responsibility for your actions. You will choose your own path and now I have to choose mine.
I choose healing. And I choose forgiveness. I choose self-love.
