Fall is here which means spooky season, pumpkin everything, cozy sweaters, and new beauty trends. Whether you’re a makeup professional or just dabbling here and there, there are some trends you need to try.
1. Natural Base Makeup
What is base makeup, you may ask? Think whatever you usually put on first: foundation, concealer, setting powder… The things that are the base of your makeup. This season, natural is in. For my people who may not feel like they can go natural (hello, acne-prone skin), there are ways to make your full-coverage makeup look natural so it looks like you’re not wearing a dang thing.
2. Cream Everything
Cream makeup users rejoice! Cream products are back in. With today’s market, no matter your skin type, you’ll be able to find cream products that work for you. Here are some foundations you can try based on your coverage preference:
Light coverage: it Cosmetics CC cream+ – think tinted moisturizer (usually with SPF)
Light-to-medium coverage: Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB cream – barely there, buildable coverage
Medium coverage: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation – easily buildable coverage
Heavy coverage: e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation – fewer applications necessary
3. Soft-Lined Eyeliner
In the past, we’ve seen one trend for eyeliner be harsh, precise lines. This season, one eyeliner trend is softer application. What does this mean? Grab a q-tip and smudge those lines. For those with unsteady hands, this trend is made for you.
4. Burnt Blush
In the past, bubblegum blush was in. Bonus points if it had shimmer. For this fall, trade that bright pink for a darker, richer, red-ish pink. Think dark roses and brown-based colors. With these shades, you won’t need much, but just as darker-colored clothes come into play for the fall months, so should your blush.
5. Silver Inner Corners
There are a few great things about this trend. One: it takes virtually no time. Two: it looks like it took you waaaay longer than it did to do your makeup. Three: it will make you look more awake. Those are all worth-it things in my book. Makeup stores sell individual shades of grey, as well as cream or liquid forms you can dab in the corners of your eyes.
6. Goth/Smokey Makeup
I have been doing all-around black eyeliner since I first picked up a makeup product in middle school, and I know there are others who have, as well. For those of us, our trend is back! Goth makeup is back in. Think dark shadows, liners, lip colors, and anything else you can find in black, dark purple, or whatever other dark color that makes your little dark heart happy.
7. Glass Lips
Gloss is back in! This may not make it easy when it’s windy – I suggest investing in a claw clip for those days you want that glossy, glassy, mirror-like look. With just about every makeup brand that’s out there, you can find a glossy lip color, whether that’s colored, clear, or sparkly.
Fall is upon us whether we’re ready or not. Grab some friends and plenty of PSLs and hit up your local makeup store to stock up on products for autumn 2022.

Make-Up Art Cosmetics, also known as MAC, was founded in Toronto, Canada in 1984. You can never go wrong with starting the season off with a solid fall bucket list, starting with some good apple picking. Running from tree to tree finding the best ones are just plain fun to do, and then you get to continue the fun at home! There are so many recipes waiting between the kitchen and that bag of freshly picked apples. Apple pie, applesauce, apple fritters, cameral apples; the possibilities are endless!
Pumpkin picking might have to wait for later in the season but, nonetheless, it’s all the more enjoyable. Rummaging through the pumpkin patch looking for the perfect decoration to sit on your front porch never gets old. Then when it comes to carving, you let your imagination run wild. Spooky ghost or silly face always looks theatrical when lit up on Halloween night. Can’t forget roasting those pumpkin seeds!
2. Fall bucket list goal– Attend a Festival
This time of year there is a 101 festival to meet every one of your fall bucket list needs. Craft tables galore and a cup of hot apple cider always hit the spot. Not to mention the weather is just right. You’re able to enjoy the colorful leaves falling and the hustle and bustle out in the community.
3. Munch of your favorite fall treats
Curling up on the couch with a pumpkin spice latte and a bowl of chili really hits the spot. Whatever your go-to food is this season, enjoy! Soups are my personal favorite; a great way to warm you up on a chilly October day.
4. Decorate the house
On the first day of September, I take my stuff down from the attic. Fall leaves, pumpkin, scarecrows – the whole nine yards. Decorate your home with those fall colors that will for sure warm your house up. Scented candles add the final touch!
5. Corn maze and hayride
Find in your inner child again and take a hayride or find your way through a corn maze. Taking those bumpy rides or twisting through turns is family fun you’ll never forget.
6. For your Fall bucket list Go for a scenic walk
September through November are my favorite times of the year. The weather is not too hot, not too cold. You’re able to enjoy the crisp breeze and a leisurely walk after work. Just don’t wait too late, it gets dark out earlier!
No bucket list is complete without adding these fall festivities. Fall is the time of year for new beginnings, great weather, and fun activities!
If you’re anything like me, you enjoy the spookiest places in fall. Haunted houses, scary hayrides, ghost tours… Activities that make your adrenaline go nuts. Luckily, there are places all across the nation that provide willing participants with the freaky-good scare they crave.
This haunted attraction is in the real school where dozens of children allegedly went missing from 1942-1955. It has also been named one of the spookiest places by USA TODAY, Buzzfeed, and Oprah Magazine.
Held in one of the most famous and expensive prisons in the country, the Eastern State Penitentiary, this haunted experience is one of the country’s top-ranked attractions.
Created in the hotel basement, visitors must find their way through the “suffocating boiler room, killer kitchen, musty old luggage room, spirit-saturated hotel bar, bloody bathrooms, and […] bone chilling chainsaw bridal suite.”
Ranked as “Pittsburgh’s Best Haunted House,” this haunted attraction is also considered one of the nation’s spookiest places by USA Today, LA Times, Forbes.com, and more.
Positively rated by USA Today, Travel Channel, Buzzfeed, The Oprah Magazine, and more, this haunted attraction provides a wide range of terrifying scares.
Found on Long Island, attractions in this haunted experience include a Bloodworth Haunted Mansion, Uncle Needle’s Funhouse of Fear, Bayville Haunted Asylum, Temple of Terror, Evil in the Woods, and The Cage.
This spookiest attraction is built into an old abandoned mine that dates back to 1856 – more than a decade before Colorado Springs was founded. Evidence from the mine showed that the area was once populated, but was mysteriously abandoned in 1859.
Held at Universal Studios, this iconic scary attraction features haunted houses like The Haunting of Hill House, Beetlejuice, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Bride of Frankenstein Lives, Revenge of the Tooth Fairy, and more.
Maybe the spookiest one of them all, this haunted experience requires a signed waiver before participation. Attractions include Lost Carnival, Delerium, Pitch Black, and Sector 13.
Ticket price: $50+
If spooky activities just aren’t your thing, I would highly suggest sitting these 19 attractions out. However, if you’re ready for a good scare, check out these places for a spook you’ll never forget.

The turning of the season is always a good time to take stock and reassess. Fall is traditionally a time for harvest, laying away what you’ll need for the coming winter.
In modern times, this season is perfect for paring down as well as stocking up, and preparing for holiday celebrations while planning for a fresh start in the new year.
With that in mind, here are six ways to simplify your life this fall.
Get a Grip on Your Budget
If the pandemic proved one thing, it’s that you should maintain an emergency fund and keep an eye on your household budget. However, if you’re one of the many Americans living paycheck to paycheck, you might wonder why you should bother when you rarely, if ever, have anything left after paying bills.
However, examining your income and expenses can reveal savvy ways you can save. For example, refinancing your vehicle or refinancing your home could cut down on what you owe over the life of the loan, saving you money each month. That’s found cash you can use to pad your savings if your stimulus stash has already dwindled.
Review Your Insurance Coverage
Another savvy money move to make this fall is reviewing your insurance coverage. If you lost work or had to move due to COVID-19, you might be eligible to re-enroll in new marketplace coverage if your new employer or circumstances leave you without a health policy.
Please don’t risk bankruptcy — illness and accidents don’t discriminate. Plus, many insurance carriers no longer waive charges for COVID-related expenses, and experts still don’t know for sure what will happen with the delta variant.
You should also review your auto and renter’s or homeowner’s policy. If you haven’t had any accidents, ask your carrier if you’re eligible for a discount. Did you invest in a bunch of equipment to work from home during the pandemic? You might want to increase your property coverage in case of theft.
Organize Your Living Space
If your home has started to fray at the seams since your last quarantine cleaning binge, it’s time to organize. Doing so before the start of the new year lets you begin 2022 on a fresh note.
Start with your garage. It doesn’t take much carpentry skill to hang a pegboard for organizing small garden tools. Build high shelves to keep antifreeze and other chemicals away from little hands.
Then, tackle your closets. Make three piles — to keep, to donate or sell, and to repurpose or recycle. Pledge to practice one-in-one-out living by discarding an old item of clothing before buying something new.
Start a Daily Agenda
Do you want to supercharge your productivity? One of the best ways is to plan for each day in black and white. You can update your to-do list each evening before leaving work and make a master family schedule once a week.
What should you tackle first? Experts recommend “eating your frog” by scheduling your most burdensome chore first. Once that’s out of the way, the rest of your day will feel like a walk in the park.
Plan to Eat More Healthfully
You returned to the office, and you’ve had a killer day. You resolved to eat more healthfully, but you’re too exhausted to peel an onion, let alone fire up a wok. The drive-thru it is. But it doesn’t have to be if you get your meal-prep game on point. It all starts by looking at what you typically eat and discovering ways to streamline the process on your off days.
For example, if you live for salads, chop all your veggies and store them in stay-fresh containers so that all you need to do is blend the ingredients you want in a bowl. Then, stock your freezer with healthy microwavable home meals that provide far more nutrition than fast food.
Tackle Your Holiday Planning Early
Do you find yourself standing in line at 8 p.m. on December 24? Why not get an early start on your holiday shopping this year? That way, you can spend time mindfully selecting each gift for those you love instead of making do at the last minute.
If COVID-19 changes left you with an empty wallet, use this time to DIY. You can make thoughtful and useful items like homemade beauty products and stash them away until December.
