Sustainable Fall Sweater Weather Inspiration!

The dramatic shift in weather only means one thing, it’s sweater weather time. It is time to start wrapping up. Admittedly if you are anything like the rest of us, you might not have your winter wardrobe ready yet. It is important especially during these times of rising expenses to know exactly what you need to have in your wardrobe. A timeless and practical staple to have in your collection should be the perfect sweater. We do not just mean any old sweater, we are talking about keeping it thick, cozy, and sustainable! Sustainability should not just become a trend but we should all start doing our part to make the world a better place. A great way you can implement sustainability is to start buying your wardrobe in sustainable ways, and there are multiple ways you can step up your first eco-friendly fall.

Buy Great Quality Sweaters For Sweater Weather

If you already have reliable sweater choices that you have had and valued for years, you are already on the right track. Prioritizing quality over quantity is one of the best ways you can try to keep your sweater collection sustainable. If you are yet to make this valuable investment and you are feeling the fall chill, it might be the right time to take the step. Finding a great quality sweater that has evidence of its long-term sustainability might seem impossible, but it just takes a little bit of digging online. If you find sweaters or cropped hoodies you love from a brand you know has a great reputation, check the product reviews or ask people on forums what their experiences have been. This small time investment into finding a genuine sweater will not only save you money in the long term, but it will also save your clothing waste from being dumped on a landfill if a low-investment sweater doesn’t last for the long haul.

Here Are Some Of Our Favourite Places For Sustainable Sweaters Ready For Sweater Weather:

Birdsong

Birdsong, which is a London-based clothing brand, focuses on hand-made, ethical fashion. Their motives behind making the garments are just as beautiful as the pieces themselves, as they not only make sustainable clothing but also prioritize their worker’s rights and operate for the empowerment of staff in the fashion industry that faces abuse. Their sweaters are unique and even available for personalization.

Hope Macaulay

If you are looking for the knitted sweater of your dreams, Hope Macaulay is the place to start looking. With sustainability being their core brand ethos, their knitted and expressive fashion pieces are being showcased in some of the biggest magazine covers to date. Not only do they provide customers with these unique chunky sweaters, but they also are changing the narrative of black Friday with their very own ‘green Friday, promising to donate £15 per each order to an environmentally focused charity. They are not only taking the sustainability movement into their own hands, but they are becoming an example for brands around the world.

Sheep Inc

You can find the most stunning knits from Sheep Inc, and as the name would suggest they have some of the best wool sweaters for the fall season. They are paving the way for sustainable fashion with their carbon-negative knitwear. Their innovative ways of creating soft knitwear are admirable to the whole fashion industry, and they are benefiting the planet as well as our wardrobes.

Navy Grey

Our last and finally not least favorite brand for sustainable sweaters is Navy Grey, a brand that puts comfort and sustainability at the forefront of its brand’s message. Each of their sweaters is 100% organic and biodegradable. Not many brands have gone to the lengths Navy Grey does to cut their waste production, as they additionally ship all their products in plastic-free packaging and deliver them using carbon-neutral methods.

Five Fall Jackets That Are Sustainable

It is officially big-coat weather, meaning it is time to start shopping for a jacket that will last you. This time round, we recommend you stay away from fast-fashion brands and start wearing sustainable brands that will last a few years.

Sustainable jackets are designed to last longer than just a cheap and cheerful jacket. Furthermore, they are far more ethical, meaning you will feel a lot better wearing them as well. The only issue with this is that it is still a small niche, and it isn’t exactly affordable. Nonetheless, investing in high-quality garments will benefit you in the long run. Therefore, it makes up for the prices that you pay.

In this article, we will look at some of the finest sustainable fashion brands which design the quality coats you should be wearing this fall.

BAM

First on the list is BAM and this is a fashion brand for both men and women. Their coats are made from recycled materials and filled with polyester insulation. With these materials, they make the coats vegan friendly and are available in a variety of colors. Moreover, they are perfect for those coldest and wettest days.

BAM is a fantastic brand looking for innovative ways to become more sustainable. That is why they collaborated with an organization called Project Plan B. The technology used for these jackets makes the garment 100% recyclable. This jacket is called the 73 Zero jacket and the reason for that is because it is believed that around 73% of the clothes produced end up at a landfill or put into an incinerator.

The 73 Zero jacket is fantastic, not because of the quality but because of the style. It is because it is 100% recyclable. Not to mention that it is PFC-fresh. It means that it is water-repellent and doesn’t consist of toxic chemicals that damage the environment. They are great ethical coats you should invest your money in as they are durable.

Finisterre

Another jacket brand that is for both men and women may be expensive but is also sustainable. Furthermore, if you are trying to find a jacket that is wind and water-resistant, you have come to the right place.

Finisterre jackets are not only wind and water-resistant, but they are also 100% recyclable. Furthermore, they have eliminated the fluorocarbons that are harmful to the environment. They also ensure sustainability standards by not using feathers for insulation in their jackets. Instead, they will use recycled synthetic materials that ensure you are warm whilst you are wet.

Patagonia

Patagonia has a fantastic reputation for sustainability and is probably one you have already heard of. It is a brand that is well known for designing high-quality garments that are long-lasting. Additionally, they offer something that many other sustainable brands don’t offer and that is a repair and reuse program.

Something that many sustainable fashion brands claim but are not necessarily true. That is why Patagonia is so great because they are certified organic by the GOTS, which stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. If there is any brand you can trust that is truly a sustainable brand, it has to be Patagonia for their must-have winter clothing.

Thought Clothing

Thought clothing is another brand that is known for its sustainable coats. They are not the greatest coat for the outside but if you are looking for an indoor coat that is sustainable, Thought Clothing is something you should consider.

This brand uses sustainable yarns that use less water than a typical fashion brand would use. They also use fewer pesticides and produce less carbon dioxide. They currently have a fantastic collection for women, with jackets ranging from £120 to £54. If you are looking for affordable and sustainable indoor jackets, this is the brand for you this fall.

Seasalt Ethical Coats

Seasalt Ethical Coats is the final brand we will look at and again, is another brand for both men and women. As you already know, this time can be extremely wet and luckily Sea Salt Coats will have you covered. Additionally, they are one of the earliest sustainable brands on this, gaining its first certification in 2005 from GOTS.

These fabrics include Tide Cycle which is a fabric woven from recycled polyester fibres with plastic bottles. Furthermore, despite aiming to be a sustainable brand, these fantastic jackets aim to be breathable and keep you dry in the harshest of weather conditions. To keep you dry for this winter, this is a brand to consider.

Summary

So there is your list of five sustainable brands where you can shop this fall. There are also many more than the ones we have listed here, these are just some of the best which are recognised by the GOTS. If you are unsure if a brand is sustainable, search the brand on Google along with asking whether it is. There will be a website to explain whether or not that brand is sustainable. It is now to wrap up with your cheap men’s hoodies and an extra layer with these sustainable jackets this winter.

Fall Fashion Favorites From Head To Toe

Fall is in the air— the crisp air, the rust colored leaves and that smell of change is here. Fall means, pumpkin spice, school is back in session, spooky season is here and the leggings go back on. Here are some fall trends that will get you in in the Falleluleah season from head to toe.

What Boots Are Trending For Fall ?

Boots that are square toed, knee high, and western are trending this Fall.  So if the boot fits…

What Jackets Are In Style For Fall ?

Quilted jackets and bombers are very IN this fall. Oversized denim, tweed and fleece are also popular this season. The shacket has carried itself into Fall. So expect to see Shackets in flannel, corduroy and other textures.

Autumn Bag Trends

Back in business totes, for the serious female entrepreneur in soft leather and pleather are a Fall Season Must Have. Bags in soft textures that are easier purse to clutch as well as lunch tote sized bags in a variety of textures and colors both shimmer and mute against your fall wardrobe.

Color Trends For Fall

Oranges, yellows, greens and bright colors graced the runways for the Fall Season. Warm colors that will warm you up is the Fashion trend to expect.

Shoes

Clogs and sneakers are hot shoes this Fall season. Loafers and comfy shoes made with soft textures and bold colors will keep you trending and comfortable as pumpkin season takes over.

Overall Fall Lewk

Maxi dresses, knit sweater dresses, vests and textured midi skirts will give you the Fall feels this season. Thing sophisticated yet grungy with a ton of layers. And not just layering of clothing. Find a soft white long sleeve T to add under your layered textures. That 80’s sweater vest will par so well with a gold lamae long sleeved and a pair of boyfriend jeans or hoodie.

Fall Into these 7 Autumn Beauty Trends

Fall is here which means spooky season, pumpkin everything, cozy sweaters, and new beauty trends. Whether you’re a makeup professional or just dabbling here and there, there are some trends you need to try.

1. Natural Base Makeup

What is base makeup, you may ask? Think whatever you usually put on first: foundation, concealer, setting powder… The things that are the base of your makeup. This season, natural is in. For my people who may not feel like they can go natural (hello, acne-prone skin), there are ways to make your full-coverage makeup look natural so it looks like you’re not wearing a dang thing.

2. Cream Everything

Cream makeup users rejoice! Cream products are back in. With today’s market, no matter your skin type, you’ll be able to find cream products that work for you. Here are some foundations you can try based on your coverage preference:

  • Light coverage: it Cosmetics CC cream+ – think tinted moisturizer (usually with SPF)
  • Light-to-medium coverage: Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB cream – barely there, buildable coverage
  • Medium coverage: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation – easily buildable coverage
  • Heavy coverage: e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation – fewer applications necessary

3. Soft-Lined Eyeliner

In the past, we’ve seen one trend for eyeliner be harsh, precise lines. This season, one eyeliner trend is softer application. What does this mean? Grab a q-tip and smudge those lines. For those with unsteady hands, this trend is made for you.

4. Burnt Blush

In the past, bubblegum blush was in. Bonus points if it had shimmer. For this fall, trade that bright pink for a darker, richer, red-ish pink. Think dark roses and brown-based colors. With these shades, you won’t need much, but just as darker-colored clothes come into play for the fall months, so should your blush.

5. Silver Inner Corners

There are a few great things about this trend. One: it takes virtually no time. Two: it looks like it took you waaaay longer than it did to do your makeup. Three: it will make you look more awake. Those are all worth-it things in my book. Makeup stores sell individual shades of grey, as well as cream or liquid forms you can dab in the corners of your eyes.

6. Goth/Smokey Makeup

I have been doing all-around black eyeliner since I first picked up a makeup product in middle school, and I know there are others who have, as well. For those of us, our trend is back! Goth makeup is back in. Think dark shadows, liners, lip colors, and anything else you can find in black, dark purple, or whatever other dark color that makes your little dark heart happy.

7. Glass Lips

Gloss is back in! This may not make it easy when it’s windy – I suggest investing in a claw clip for those days you want that glossy, glassy, mirror-like look. With just about every makeup brand that’s out there, you can find a glossy lip color, whether that’s colored, clear, or sparkly.

Fall is upon us whether we’re ready or not. Grab some friends and plenty of PSLs and hit up your local makeup store to stock up on products for autumn 2022.

Must Have Womens Belts and Accessories For Fall

Fall is just around the corner, so it’s time for you to upgrade your accessories! If you want to overhaul your collection of accessories with pieces that will be bang on with your fall fashion, you’re in the right place. With these accessories on hand, you can bring any outfit to life.

One Classic Mid-Width Belt

First up we have a classic mid-width belt. Not too thin, not too thick, just somewhere in the middle so that it can go with more delicate outfits as well as looking great with a pair of jeans. Depending on your favourite fall color palette (we love neutrals, but it’s up to you), choose either a black or tan belt depending on the predominant color of the rest of your accessories. For example, if all of your shoes are brown, you wouldn’t want to be buying a black belt!

This belt will look best around jeans or cigarette trousers, as well as around your waist to add some shape and definition to your t-shirt dresses, shirt dresses or jumper dresses. Having a few different colored belts is always a good idea, as you know they’ll never go out of style and you can wear them in every season, not just fall. Navy and burnt orange are a couple of our favorite shades for fall.

One Statement Belt

Now that you have a few main belts in your collection, it’s time to get yourself one main star of the show, a proper statement belt! This is something that will really draw the eye to any outfit, and something that you can add to a simple outfit to really bring it to life.

Statement belts are going to be something very personal to you, so it’s hard to advise on the right direction to go in! However, a piece of advice would be to choose a belt that you would style over the top of a coat or with wide leg trousers as a place to start.

Statement to you might mean the size of it, or it could have very intricate details like embellishments. Perhaps a designer logo might be the focal point of your belt.

Knee or Thigh High Boots

Moving onto footwear, getting yourself a pair of knee or thigh high boots is a great way to bring your fall wardrobe to life! They’re the perfect shoe for fall, and whether you choose knee or thigh height is completely up to you, but having high boots just adds something great to every outfit. Whether you wear the boots with a short jumper dress, a trench coat, jeans and a blazer or leather shorts, it is such a classy look that is absolutely timeless. So, invest in some thigh or knee high boots and they’ll last you for years to come!

Pair of Huggie Hoops

Moving onto your jewellery, a piece that will never let you down is a pair of huggie hoops. Again, these are such timeless pieces that go with absolutely everything, and are perfect if you don’t like huge statements or dangly earrings. Huggie hoops are ideal if you want a piece of jewellery to compliment what you are wearing rather than overwhelm everything.

If you have other piercings, you can then compliment the huggie hoops with understated daith or tragus earrings to tie the whole look together. Opt for solid gold or sterling silver, or go for something more sparkly to bring some bling to your fall wardrobe.

The End of Summer: Getting Your Wardrobe Ready for Fall

The long-awaited summer is at its end. We have truly enjoyed every single ray of sunshine, every summer breeze, and even an occasional warm, summer rain. We also had so much fun wearing all our colorful swimsuits and light dresses. However, we are now ready to embrace the fall, which is slowly approaching. It is time to start preparing your wardrobe for a new and exciting season and here is how to do it with style.

Refresh your collection with end-of-the-summer sales

We all know that the end of every season brings some of the best sales. The offers can be so amazing that you can get some incredible pieces for less than half of the original price. So, make sure to check out the best discounts by yourself. If you don’t have the time to explore the boutiques, pour yourself some homemade lemonade and look at what your favorite online fashion store has to offer. It is without a doubt that you will find some lovely pieces, such as a cute summer dress that you can layer with a biker jacket or a chic top to style over a long sleeve shirt. You may even find great prices for more elegant items to wear for a special occasion, like cocktail dresses, for instance.

Invest in staple pieces

There are a few clothing items that you will wear often during the fall and perhaps even in the spring. Therefore, they are worth spending a bit more in order to get high quality. First of all, you will certainly need a modish leather (or eco-leather) jacket. The one in black is a safe and versatile choice, but you can enrich your collection with other neutral colors. In case you already own a black biker jacket, but want another in a more statement color, burgundy is a great option, as this is one of the tones we love seeing during the fall. It will look fabulous when paired with chunky knits, denim shirt or layered over a maxi dress. Just add some cute boots and a backpack and you will get a chic, fall outfit.

Another fall essential is definitely a classic trench coat. It is best to get one in a neutral color so that it can be combined with any other piece from your wardrobe. It is perfect to wear over your trousers and silk blouses, as a part of work attire. Additionally, it is a great and elegant choice to layer over a romantic dress you would wear when heading to dinner at a popular restaurant.

Finally, don’t forget to invest in a high-quality, fitted blazer. You can spice up your wardrobe with a patterned version of this item, as a blazer will prove to be a versatile piece you can wear throughout the day. Throw it over a simple, cotton shirt when heading off to work and mix it with a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt for a casual, daytime look. In the evening, layer it over a satin, spaghetti straps dress and match the look with a pair of black stilettos and a trendy mini bag.

Revive your knits

As they have been sitting in your closet for a while, your jumpers, cardigans, and other knits may look a bit dull or even catch a musty smell that quite often ruins the clothes that have been in storage. This can be fixed by simply washing the items. However, bear in mind that knits and especially cashmere items shouldn’t be washed at a high temperature. To prevent any harm, hand wash your knits and do not tumble dry them.

Another issue that you may stumble upon when it comes to your beloved knitwear is bobbles. The little, but annoying balls that are caused by friction can destroy the beauty of any jumper. That is why you should put an effort to prevent them. In case they still manage to surface on top of your cardigans and jumpers, just gently shave them off with a razor.

Old clothes out, new clothes in

This basically means making a huge clear out prior to going shopping. Check your closet and divide your items into groups of what you most likely will and what you probably won’t wear again. The clothes that should no longer be a part of your wardrobe further divide into what is to be thrown away as completely unusable, what you will give to charity, and finally, what is good for recycling. This way, you will have more space for newer pieces and you will have a clear image of the fall items you already have and the ones you need to shop for (for example, you may realize that you own 6 pairs of grey jumpers and almost no midi dresses to combine into cute, fall outfits).

Finally, start preparing your wardrobe on time and enjoy the fall.

5 Cozy Outfit Ideas to Get You Through The Fall

As summer ends, we are all trying to hold tightly onto the last rays of sun and temperatures high enough to allow us to wear cute, trendy, and chic outfits. However, every year, without exception, fall comes boldly into our lives and simply forces us to forget about swimsuits and high-waisted denim shorts. This means that we have to transition to a slightly warmer wardrobe while also remaining on trend. Moreover, we need to feel comfortable because these rainy days are not meant for stilettos, silky blouses, and form-fitting suits. The question is: how can you achieve being cozy and chic in the fall? Don’t worry –  have a few ideas for you here.

1. Sweater weather, with a twist

Cardigans, jumpers, and sweaters won’t come across as unexpected in chilly fall weather. However, how about matching them with some summer items, such as a colorful maxi dress? This combo is perfect for those chilly days when you need to do errands in town or want to look classy but also be comfortable for a lunch date. Throw a slouchy knitted cardigan over your floaty maxi dress and finish the look off with a pair of modish ankle boots. You can upgrade the style even further and add a Parisian vibe to it with a splash of red lipstick and an eco-friendly tote bag. Voila.

2. Leggings for days, in style

There are a few pieces of clothings that can beat leggings, a clothing item which deserves a special place on our list of cozy fall outfit ideas. One of the ways in which you can wear them is by pairing your leggings with other athleisure pieces or even workwear. For example, when taking your dog for a walk, you can combine a pair of comfy leggings with a trendy cropped windbreaker and white trainers. Another cozy way to wear leggings is by matching them with something more formal, such as a shirt. This is actually a quite common fashion trait among stylish girls who love to match their favorite pair of leggings and a shirt or a polo shirt and a puffer vest. Thus it is no wonder that you can find some amazing womens activewear and easily shop for cute pieces online. You can complete this minimalistic look with a pair of white sneakers.

3. Slip dresses, fall edition

Spaghetti straps and slip dresses may not be the first thing that pops up in your mind when you think of a cozy fall wardrobe. However, these silky pieces can work wonderfully when matched with a simple, warm turtleneck. You can opt for a camel or black tight turtleneck and a slip dress, preferably with an animal or floral print (you still want to be chic and modish). Combine this outfit with a classic trench coat and a pair of kitten heels or block heels and ankle boots. As for your hair and makeup, go for a cute messy bun and a nude lip. This could be the ideal look for a Sunday brunch with the girls or even fashionable work attire (if the company dress code allows it, of course).

4. Sweatsuits, but make it fashion

During the lockdown, sweatsuits have become the most beloved piece of clothing for a majority of us. Cozy and warm, they are ideal for times when the temperatures drop. To keep up with the trends, opt for sweatsuits in bright colors, such as yellow, green, or red. You don’t even have to look for a matching sweatshirt and sweatpants as long as both items are a bit oversized and slouchy.
Match your favorite sweatsuit with unexpected accessories, such as strappy sandals and a statement bracelet. Instead of a backpack or a canvas tote bag, go for something more elegant such as a flap shoulder bag or a polished pencil bag. Furthermore, with this outfit, you can opt for a no-makeup look  or go all out with a bold eyeliner and a matte lipstick. The choice is up to you, but you are bound to achieve a very Instagrammable style, that we saw many fashion bloggers rocking during the NYFW.

5. Ripped, skinny jeans and a blazer

Denim is truly appropriate for any season and skinny jeans are (still) a classic. For this reason, you can go for a pair of dark denim, ripped jeans and make them look a bit more polished with a blazer, preferably an oversized one, to achieve a stylish contrast. The choice of color is up to you, and you can round off this timeless look with a cropped white tee and white Converse sneakers.
To sum up, we can say that fall is an exquisite season for cozy fashion ideas. A gorgeous look can at the same time be super-comfortable and easy to achieve. Try out the ones we have suggested here and truly enjoy your style, even on cloudy rainy days.

4 Reasons You Need to Act Now to Achieve Your 2022 Body Goals

1. You only have 12 weeks until Christmas

Sure, you may laugh at the ardent commercialism when Costco decides to bust out Christmas trees and wrapping paper in September; however, truth be told: there are exactly 12 weeks until Christmas.  Like legit 12 weeks from this very day!  Gasp!  Do you know what else is significant about the span of 12 weeks?  I thought you’d never ask…

It takes roughly 12 weeks, barring individual differences and exercise history, to truly lose body fat and gain lean body mass. I am not talking about dropping a pound or two, but actually shaping your body and changing its composition.  Staying committed and grinding it out for 12 weeks takes determination and will power.  Just know that Christmas will arrive whether your waistline is ready for it or not.  Why not plan ahead and end the year with a new sense of self, a healthy heart, AND bangin’ body?  The sweet spot to transform your current self into your fit self (aka…getting off your butt and making better food choices) is NOW.

2. Fall is Fattening

It is easy to get sucked into tailgate wishes and pumpkin spice dreams.  Furthermore, inconveniences of colder weather tend to go hand in hand with decreased fitness levels.  Outdoor activities become less fun and downright uncomfortable.  If you start to coast along now… sampling every warm, gooey dessert and saying yes to Sunday Funday nachos, you will add an extra layer of winter insulation by the time the turkey hits the table at Thanksgiving.  JUST SAY NO never worked for drugs (sorry Reagan era), but it does work for healthy eating.  Don’t let yourself slide down the slippery slope of saying yes to food you know won’t properly fuel your body.  If cellulite and fat were considered an allergy, you would have a perfect excuse.  Use it…the gluten-free peeps need some competition.

3. Fall Fashion

Warmer clothes make it far too easy to simply cover-up the indulgences of fall.

My recommendations…

*Keep a bikini handy to try on once a week as a reminder that the sun still shines on other parts of the globe.

*Buy some skinny jeans and boots that make you feel sexy.

*Book a winter vacay in a warmer, tropical location.

*Buy the perfect Christmas party goal dress that you know will make others want to push you under the mistletoe.

4. Be The Example

Imagine how powerful and amazingly awesome you will feel when the New Year rolls around and you are already ahead of the game.  You won’t be one of those sad people signing up for a gym on Saturday, January 1, 2022.  Put in the time and your body will reward you.  Don’t wait another year.

Celebrate The Fall Feels Season With These Ten Leaf Changing Ideas

Okay, Summer ending is ALWAYS a bummer. Truly it is.. however, the fall season brings its own joys and pleasures. So here are ten things to do to celebrate fall that I am rearing to enjoy. Celebrate Fall as one leaf turns orange and then the next and so on an so forth. Fall means breaking out the smokey colored clothes and corduroys. Oh and did I mention boots? YASS the boots!!

1.) Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Pumpkin ANYTHING–is a must do. I mean– I am having a latte anyway, so why not add some spicy goodness? Nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin and apple are all savory spiced in teas and coffees as the season begins.

2.) Fall Picnic

There is nothing sweeter or more romantic than a fall picnic with your love..  So break out the wine- and charcuterie plate or put together some sandwiches and your favorite snacks. Put a sweet playlist together and find a remote spot or a nearby park. With the kids in school those places are a bit quieter and much more serene. Spend some quality time together and get close as the cool breeze encourages extra cuddles.

3.) Patio Dining

The ‘squitos’ are asleep, the crisp air beckons and the patios are open! So put on that dress you love to twirl in and support local with a nice evening dinner. Leave the cooking for another night. Take it as an opportunity to discuss holiday plans and to enjoy each others company. You can hold hands as you stroll to your favorite local eatery. And jus be a couple!

4.) Happy Hour With Friends

Go from work to play seamlessly with your coworker wifey and work family. As restaurants regain their footing since COVID-19 began, show them some love and gratitude by enjoying their specials with your favorite work crew. And don’t forget to tip big! Celebrate Fall with your closest friends.

5.) Shop til you drop

Shopping with your bestie is one of the best things to do as you and your BFF both Fall into the season. It’s sweater weather and hat season so find your local boutique, consign and sell last years items you no longer covet and find your new and next items together!

6.) Keep Summer Alive

Perhaps you just want a little more Summer? There are a few things you can do to delay the inevitability of the change of seasons. Pop on some punchy summer nail color, add tights to your summer dresses and replace your summer sandals with boots. Or take a trip to a summer destination with your beau or bestie. You are bound to get some great deals right now.

7.) Find a Fall Festival

Apple orchards, pumpkins everywhere, local music, tasty festival eats will get you into the season. So get your fall bucket list on and remember to layer those clothes!

8.) Celebrate Fall Host A Fall Party

Fall is the perfect time to entertain friends. People are back from their Summer vacations and have not quite taken off for their Thanksgiving dinners. So plan an outdoor fall bbq, beckoning your friends over for some time together. You can keep the party outdoors while the weather is right.

9.) Binge Some Streaming Series

There are so many shows and so many streaming outlets to binge from. Catching up on Gossip Girl via Netflix is one way, but why not check out some Docuramas too? There is The Way We Move, for example. And remember, as we get into spooky season, maybe it is time to get into the creepier shows like You.

10.) Start Planning Spooky Season NOW

Halloween Costumes? What will you be? Are you hosting the Halloween party? is there a theme? How many Halloween movies can I watch before the big day? And how should we decorate or place? Getting into Fall green lights getting into Halloween season too.

With Fall Upon Us, There’s No Better Time to Clean Out Your Closet

What To REALLY Consider When Making Wardrobe Choices This Fall.

Fashion got turned onto its head this year, just like the rest of the world. Suddenly, we want comfort more than anything. For the time being, we don’t go out like we used to. What happened to looking pretty though? If you’re anything like me, you still want that. And last time I checked, getting dressed was still fun, too.

Needless to say, we have been making a marked shift towards comfort this year, and will continue to do so into the Fall. Having been in Pajamas (actual ones, not the trend!) and sweats for weeks on end earlier in the year we are craving dressing up again — at least to a certain extent. And the shift to crisper Fall air gets us excited to see what’s new this season — pandemic or not.

Go Through Your Closet

So you’ve dug through your closet and put some items out of sight — those summery items perhaps that just don’t feel right anymore, or the super high heels? How about those pants though? The ones you got on sale even though they were a little uncomfortable? Or the skirt that was too tight to begin with, but you were going to lose some weight — instead you put on a few pounds during SIP. How do you decide what you should keep and what you should get rid of? Normally, the rule of thumb is: if you haven’t worn something in a year, it’s a toss. But this year is different.

Think Practical Fashion For Fall

Fall fashion in 2020 is decidedly more practical than in previous years. We just won’t need the dramatic asymmetrical necklines or “feathers everywhere” in our lives this year. What we need is a different set of checkpoints and considerations. Having said that, I love seeing how WFH practicality and those exciting new colors, proportions, textures that only fashion can provide mix this season. Let’s take a look.

Comfort is the no-brainer here.

We need to make it through those endless Zoom meetings without sucking our bellies in and constantly tucking on our clothes. We want to be enveloped and showered with softness and gentleness instead, and anything that doesn’t hit the mark is a go. For this very reason, last season’s oversized silhouettes in tops and outerwear are a keeper, and so are  high-waisted, wide-leg pants). Imagine those pieces paired with something more casual or basic, like wearing your favorite cashmere turtleneck with the trousers, or pairing chic track pants with an oversized shirt or jacket. Curling up with a book and a cup of tea in an outfit that combines polished and comfortable elements is as cozy as it will feel nourishing to your very being this Fall.

Color is big this season as it can lift our mood

Something we all cannot have enough of right now, and as it has the pleasant side effect of making us look more awake and refreshed on a Zoom camera. Color was big last year as well and if you bought into the trend then — congratulations! You’re all set. Those pieces are definitely a keeper The best part: there is no going wrong with color. Fall 2020 prefers both head-to-toe solid color in clean, bold silhouettes, as well as wildly patterned pieces.

More trends that continue to be big this Fall focus on reinventing classics like animal prints, plaids, and most notably, leather. Those pieces already in your closet are very important this season. They pair well with colored pieces — of both the solid variety as of the patterned one. They also elevate other wardrobe staples like white button-downs, denim, or cashmere sweaters to something that is bigger than the sum of its parts.

Texture is huge this Fall

Anything tactile and soft is soothing, so knits have a special place in our wardrobe this season. Anything in your closet that is big, chunky, oversized — or 90’s style minimalist and form fitting will be in constant rotation and should be kept in plain sight. The one exception to the rule are last year’s fleece jackets, popovers, and sweaters that got a little too much exposure earlier this year when we were all wearing nothing but.

With that in mind, there might be several items sitting in our closets that we couldn’t quite figure out how to work last year, but this year they might just be perfect. Those big puffy sleeves for example? We could never quite figure out how to wear a coat with them, but this year they look fab on their own on Zoom!

2020 has been an incredibly challenging year.

After we unanimously opted for a “schlumpy” sweats look when the nation got locked down, our desire to look cute, or fabulous, or pretty has now resurfaced. As we are weighing what we have in our closets against where fashion is steering us, we might need to take a different approach this season. Our considerations will most likely be more down-to-earth and more comfort-centered than in previous years, but nevertheless playing with Fashion will be FUN.
