How to Glow and Sparkle at Your Next Holiday Party

When the holiday season rolls around, it brings with it a wave of festive events, glamorous parties, and the perennial question: how do you stand out in a sea of sparkles? The key lies in fine-tuning the details of your look.

This guide will take you through five essential tips to ensure you shimmer and shine at your next holiday gathering, along with your dress from Tobi, making a memorable impression that lasts long after the party ends.

Radiant Skin is Your Best Accessory

Achieving a sparkling presence at a holiday party starts with the canvas of your skin. It’s essential to give your skin the attention it deserves. Begin by integrating a quality skincare routine well ahead of the event. This routine should include gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells, revealing a fresh and smooth surface. Follow this up with deep hydration; a nourishing face mask can do wonders in restoring moisture and giving your skin a natural glow.

In the days leading up to the party, consider using serums rich in vitamins C and E, known for their brightening and rejuvenating properties. On the day of the event, apply a luminous foundation or a tinted moisturizer to enhance your skin’s natural radiance. Finish with a light dusting of translucent powder to control shine.

Choose an Outfit that Reflects Your Personality

Selecting the perfect outfit for a holiday party is about balancing style, comfort, and personal expression. Your attire should not only be appropriate for the occasion but should also reflect your unique personality and style. Start by considering the theme and venue of the party. Is it a formal gala, a cozy home gathering, or a funky office party? For a formal event, you might lean towards elegant dresses or sharp suits.

For something more casual, a stylish yet comfortable jumper or a chic cocktail dress could be more fitting. Don’t shy away from vibrant colors or unique patterns if they speak to your style; the holidays are a time for cheer and boldness. Accessorize thoughtfully – a statement necklace, a classic watch, or an eye-catching clutch can add a layer of sophistication to your outfit.

Highlight Your Eyes

Elevating your look with stunning eyelashes can be a game-changer for your holiday party appearance. Enhance your lashes with premade fans by Lashes by RK and effortlessly add drama and depth to your eyes. These high-quality lashes are designed to provide volume and length, creating a captivating look that draws attention to your eyes. Apply a thin line of lash adhesive to the band, wait a few seconds for it to become tacky, and then carefully place the lashes along your natural lash line. These lashes blend seamlessly with your natural lashes, offering comfortable wear throughout the evening.

The impact of well-defined, voluminous lashes is undeniable – they not only enhance your eyes but also add a touch of glamour to your entire look. Remember to pair them with a subtle or bold eyeshadow and a swipe of mascara on your lower lashes for a cohesive and striking effect.

Add a Touch of Sparkle to Your Makeup

Incorporating sparkle into your makeup can transform your look from everyday to extraordinary. A strategic application of shimmer can accentuate your features and complement the festive mood. Start with the eyes–a shimmering eyeshadow applied to the center of the eyelid can make your eyes pop. Consider using gold, silver, or jewel tones that reflect the holiday spirit. When applying highlighter, focus on the high points of your face, like cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of your nose to create a radiant glow.

A metallic or glittery lip color can also be a bold addition. However, the key is balance – if you opt for a sparkling eye, keep the lips more subdued, and vice versa. The aim is to create a look that’s both enchanting and tasteful, not overpowering.

Confidence is Your Secret Weapon

Confidence is the invisible, yet most dazzling, accessory you can wear to any holiday party. It’s not just about the clothes or the makeup; it’s about embracing who you are, flaws and all. Start by acknowledging your unique qualities and remind yourself that there’s only one of you in that room. When you enter, do it with a stride that says you’re happy to be there, with a smile that’s warm and inviting, especially if you’re the host of the party.

Engage in conversations with a mix of curiosity and kindness, showing that you’re genuinely interested in others’ stories. This inner spark of self-assurance is contagious, making the atmosphere more vibrant and enjoyable for everyone.

Stepping into a holiday party doesn’t have to feel like stepping into an ocean of competition. With these tips, you’re set to not just attend the party, but to own it. From radiant skin to confident strides, each element comes together to create a version of you that doesn’t just glow and sparkle but also leaves a lasting, memorable impact. So, go ahead, embrace these tips and be ready to turn heads at your next holiday event!

5 Tips To Save Your Skin This Summer

Summer is the time of sunshine, warm weather, and swimming. However, it’s also the time of sunburn, sweat, and chlorine.

If you’re anything like me, you live for the few months of summer when you can wear tank tops, bask in the sun, and have days by the water. However, as a makeup artist and skincare enthusiast, I know that summer is one of the most brutal times for your skin. But, there are things you can do to save the skin you’re in, while still enjoying the dog days of summer.

1. Use Sunscreen

If you take nothing else from this article, take this: USE. SUNSCREEN. It is estimated that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. That’s a pretty big chance of something that I’m sure none of us want to develop. Thankfully, skincare brands and even sunscreen brands are all over it. An example is Spot My UV detection stickers which tell you when it is time to reapply sunscreen.

It’s hard to find a skincare product that doesn’t already have SPF in it, including primers, moisturizers, lotions, foundations, etc. In my opinion, that’s worth spending a few extra dollars on so that you can “set it and forget it.” However, if you are looking for just a sunscreen instead of a makeup product, Neutrogena created products that are safe for your skin – including a specifically breakout-free sunscreen lotion for us who have acne-prone skin. Trust me – if you can do something so simple to help protect yourself from something so serious, do it.

2. Moisturize

A common misconception of skincare is that if you’re producing oil on your skin (specifically your face), you don’t need moisturizer. Let me squash that lie right now. If you have oily skin, that means your body doesn’t produce enough moisture so it’s working overtime to develop what you don’t have enough of. Using a moisturizer will save your skin – yes, even in sweaty weather. Honestly, especially in sweaty weather.

Moisturizer should be a part of everyone’s skincare routine, no matter their skin type. This is especially true when you’re skin may be taking in some extra sunshine. To keep your skin in check, moisturize at least once a day – right after you wash your face. For my makeup-wearing people, this should be twice a day: once in the morning and once at night after you take your makeup off.

3. Cooling Spray

I live in the south which means brutal heat and humidity. Hello 100° weather, hello sweat… The elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. But I have news for you: everyone sweats. However, that doesn’t mean you have to really suffer through it. Let’s all thank the skincare gods that they’ve come up with an easy fix.

I’ve always been an advocate for Mario Badescu products. Although some may be a little pricey, I have yet to encounter one that doesn’t do what it says. Their facial refreshing sprays are no different. Like a good skincare brand should do, they’ve produced several different sprays for different skin types and skin concerns:

  1. Aloe, herbs, and rose water
  2. Aloe, cucumber, and green tea
  3. Aloe, chamomile, and lavender
  4. Aloe, sage, and orange blossom

All with stellar reviews, these sprays may just be the cooling sensation you need in the dead heat and humidity of summer.

4. Check the UV Index

The Ultraviolet Index (UV index) is a measurement created in the 90s used to find the strength of sunburn-producing ultraviolet radiation. Don’t let the word radiation scare you. In simpler (and less scary) terms, it’s the unit of measurement to see how intense the sun’s rays are. The scale is color-coded and number-coded and goes from 1-11+. The lower the number, the lower the exposure.

The lower the number, the “safer” it is to be out in the sun since there’s less sun exposure. Before you go out and tan, check your local UV index to see how long you can safely spend outside, what the recommended SPF is, etc.

5. Hydrate

Let’s be honest, we all should probably be doing this a lot more than we currently do. However, this is especially pertinent in the summertime. Drinking water is said to help clear up your skin – and trust me, it really does. Especially if you use sunscreen you don’t normally use, water is essential to keep your skin in tip-top shape.

Hydration is also essential when it comes to combatting heatstroke or other side effects caused by sun exposure. Of course, other help for heatstroke is cold water exposure (pools, ice baths, cold showers), rest, a colder environment… It may take away from your sun time, but it’s worth it to keep your body’s equilibrium in check.

Summertime can be relaxing, fun, exciting, and anything else you want it to be. In using these five tips, you can help to make sure your skin has the same amount of fun you do.

How The Beauty Marketplace Is Changing – Here’s What You Need to Know

Online beauty sales are proliferating, thanks to the widespread adoption of internet access and mobile devices, as well as social media engagement (which is central to much of the e-commerce experience). The online beauty and personal care market are set to grow at an annual rate of 6.6 percent between 2017 and 2022, reaching $57 billion by 2022.

Within this overall market, the Asia Pacific region will see the highest growth rate, while North America and Western Europe will remain the most important regional markets. Here’s what you need to know about how the beauty marketplace changes if you want to get involved in this exciting new industry.

Different innovation models in the beauty marketplace

There are a few different innovation models of beauty marketplaces.

The first is the direct-to-consumer model: The direct-to-consumer business model is an online retailer that operates by selling to customers directly rather than through brick-and-mortar establishments, wholesalers, or online marketplaces like Amazon or Etsy. Distributors and the majority of the conventional supply chain are bypassed, and all sales are made straight to the brand. Brands sell their products directly to consumers through their channels.

The second is the indirect-to-consumer model: where brands sell their products to retailers, who then sell them to consumers.

When middlemen or intermediaries are present in the distribution channel, indirect distribution takes place.

Third is the online-offline platform model: This model combines the online marketplace with offline product display.

A business technique known as online-to-offline (O2O) commerce encourages consumers to visit real stores to make purchases. Online-to-offline (O2O) commerce uses a number of techniques and strategies to persuade clients to leave the online environment after first identifying them there, such as through emails and Internet advertising. The strategies employed in this kind of plan are a combination of those used in traditional marketing and those used in online marketing.

Beautysourcing.com practices the online-offline platform model. It is a marketplace platform that hosts and sells beauty wholesales products.

Because it has more than ten years of professional expertise in the cosmetics industry, it selects every supplier with skill and rigor. Additionally, it is a lateral business-to-business market. The platform can stay up to date with the newest trends in beauty supply chain industry.

Beauty Marketplaces are here to stay

With the rise of e-commerce, it was only a matter of time before beauty marketplaces became a thing. And now that they’re here, they’re here to stay. If you’re unfamiliar with beauty marketplaces, they’re online platforms that allow you to buy and sell beauty products. Think of them as the Beauty sourcing, eBay, or Amazon of the beauty world.

Also, sites like Revolve or The Hunt have been around for years, but in recent months new places have popped up in droves, like StyleSaint or The Black Market. They’ve made waves because people are always looking for new ways to shop for beauty deals, and these sites offer an affordable way to try out new brands without committing. But what does this mean for the future of retail? And how can brands best use this trend?

A business technique known as online-to-offline (O2O) commerce encourages consumers to visit real stores to make purchases. Online-to-offline (O2O) commerce uses a number of styles and strategies to persuade clients to leave the online environment after first identifying them there, such as through emails and Internet advertising. The method employed in this kind of plan combines those used in traditional marketing and those used in online marketing—the ability to try out new products before buying them.

Third, several reports show that cosmetics have become the largest retail category among women, with total sales reaching as high as 34 billion dollars. Finally, we’ve seen this summer that prestige cosmetics companies like L’Oreal have taken notice of the trend by launching initiatives to target millennial shoppers.

10 New Makeup Trends and Products to Try for Spring 2022

Y2K is back (kinda).

2021 focused mainly on 80s and 90s makeup, while the spring of 2022 will bring out trends from Y2K. Thankfully, you may be able to recycle some of the products you used and incorporate them in these new looks.

1. Pinks

2021 mainly focused on cool tones such as blues, greys, and purples. For this season, pink is in. This could mean eyeshadow, eyeliner, bright lips, and everything in between. Kylie Cosmetics has introduced a Valentine’s Day collection that will exceed your wildest pink fantasies.

2. Heavy Blush

Last season, draped blush was in. What is draped blush, you may ask? It’s all in the placement. In short, draped blush is applied where contour is usually applied – a little lower than the apple of your cheekbones. This season, take it to the next level, and don’t be scared to apply a little extra! FENTY BEAUTY (shout out to Rihanna) released a new collection of vibrant blushes that will be perfect for this look.

3. Glossy Lips

In line with Y2K fashion, glossy lips will be making a comeback. Not only that, e.l.f. Cosmetics just launched a Dunkin’ Donuts collab that features two new gloss colors. The shades are simply labeled Dunkin’ Orange and Dunkin’ Pink to follow the iconic colors of the coffee and donut shop franchise.

4. Color Coordination

This season, try and purchase some clothes that match the color of your makeup. If you can, try and get an eyeshadow palette that has at least one pan of every color, that way you’ll have each one right at the tip of your fingers. Juvia’s Place just released a new 30-color shadow palette with both matte and shimmer options that are bound to match up with the main color in whatever outfit you’re wearing.

5. Neon Liners

Using neon eyeliner is hands-down one of the easiest ways to make it look like you spent way longer on your makeup than you actually did. Morphe’s Lucky Charms collab has a 6-color set of vibrant liners that will bring a pop of color to your eyes in just a few seconds.

6. Double Winged Liner

If you’re lucky enough to have a steady hand when it comes to applying winged liner, this trend is for you. If not, this would be a great time to learn! Give it a go with the new Benefit Cosmetics precision waterproof liquid eyeliner. For examples of double-winged eyeliner, Pinterest is a great place to look, as well as YouTube for tutorials.

7. Thin/Light Eyebrows

If there’s one thing makeup lovers know, it’s that eyebrow trends come and go in the blink of an eye. Recent trends included fluffy brows, natural brows, thick brows… And now, thin brows are back (think younger Christina Aguilera on the red carpet). If you decide to go with this trend, just know that it does take a fairly long time for brows to grow back to their natural shape. However, if you do want to participate, FLOWER Beauty has introduced a new brow pencil with a thin tip that will give you that precision needed for thin brows.

8. Popping Inner Corner

This may be one of the easiest (and quickest) trends to do. To get that wide-awake, ready-for-the-day look, a light highlighter or light silver eyeshadow will be your best bet. To achieve the look, I would recommend ColourPop’s Super Shock Highlight in shade Monster.

9. Under Eye Placement

This trend is perfect for a night on the town. If you’re looking for a wow factor, this is the way to do it. There’s a look called the reverse cat eye which is exactly what it sounds like – you do your winged eyeliner under your eye instead of on your eyelid. Remember, you don’t have to make it as thick – you only need a thin line. KIKO Milano has a khol liner with a fine tip for those thinner lines you’ll need.

10. Face Gems

If you’re really looking to branch out, this trend is for you. However, this won’t work with any gems you find – make sure you grab ones that are specific for your face or body. Benefit Cosmetics sells face and body gems that will fit any look you’re going for.

Makeup trends come and go quickly – that’s what makes them fun. If you’re ready to jump into the looks, you can also Google “Y2K fashion and makeup” and really see how Y2K affected the beauty world.

The Benefits Of Vegan Beauty Products

Whether you’re a beauty expert or just getting started with makeup, it’s important to know about what you’re putting on your face and body. Within recent years it’s been discovered that cosmetics are often the culprit of containing toxic chemicals adversely affecting consumers’ health.

Keep reading to learn more about vegan beauty and why it’s the best option to continue your beauty routine without being exposed to harmful chemicals and carcinogens.

What Is Vegan Beauty?

You’ve probably heard the term “vegan beauty” before, but what does it mean? Simply put, vegan beauty is similar to a vegan diet in the sense that no animal ingredients are used. Believe it or not, animal derivatives are commonly found in cosmetics, and as a result, the vegan beauty industry was born.

The vegan beauty industry is committed to not using animal products in any of its cosmetics. This includes avoiding animal cruelty and not using ingredients such as slaughtered animal fat, crushed claws or horns, and ground insects. And yes, these things are commonly used in non-vegan products. Vegan products also don’t use animal-derived products, such as honey or beeswax.

Benefits Breakdown

If you choose to begin using only vegan beauty products, there are numerous benefits such as:

● Less plastic waste as vegan beauty brands are also committed to better environmental practices
● Clean ingredients that aren’t coming from animals
● More nutrient-based ingredients that come from plants
● Vegan ingredients that the body knows how to process
● Less skin irritation

The largest benefit is that animals are not being harmed in the making of vegan beauty products and you can find satisfaction in knowing that your cosmetics are made from ethical ingredients.

Dangers To Be Aware Of

Even if a product claims to be vegan, there could still be other dangerous ingredients in the product. Many makeup products contain chemicals or carcinogens that aren’t regulated by the FDA, resulting in exposure that can lead to health complications. Two ingredients to look out for include:

Talcum Powder

One of the most common ingredients found in makeup products is talcum powder. This ingredient alone is not harmful as talcum powder is natural and comes from the ground. However the issue lies in that it’s mined near asbestos deposits, which is a known carcinogen, and the talc in makeup could become contaminated with it. Asbestos exposure can lead to diseases such as mesothelioma cancer, so it’s best to limit your usage of makeup with talc.

Phthalates

This group of chemicals can be found in beauty products as an additive for fragrance or durability. They’re banned in the European Union but not in U.S. manufacturing. Exposure can lead to health complications such as cancer, endocrine disruption, and reproductive toxicity. To avoid exposure to phthalates, look for “phthalate-free” on the label or avoid products that list “fragrance” as an ingredient to be safe.

How To Know If A Brand Is Vegan

To make sure that you know what you’re buying is safe, it’s important to know how to read packaging labels and know what symbols to look for.

If you want to ensure that your products are certified vegan, then look out for wording such as:

● Vegan
● Vegan-friendly
● 100% vegan

It’s encouraged to do your research before shopping around to learn about vegan makeup brands and what ingredients they use. Understand that some products may be vegan, but the brand that made it may not be considered a vegan brand.

Brands that still use animal products could have vegan beauty lines but are not a 100% vegan brand. If this is important to you, research your favorite brands to understand their stance and if they use animal products in their other cosmetics.

No one expects you to make the switch to a vegan beauty routine overnight. It takes time, research, and money but we know you can do it! Let us know your favorite vegan-friendly brands and products in the comments below.

7 Makeup Trends You Need to Try for 2022

The bolder the better.

After the chaos of 2020 and 2021, people are ready to see what 2022 will bring. And, of course, a new year brings new makeup and beauty trends. All that to say, there are seven new makeup trends you need to try for 2022.

1. Bold Lips

This has been a trend in the past, but the bold lip is coming back into play in the makeup world. Whether it’s a bold red, shocking pink, or even vibrant purple, finding a bold lip color to use will be the hit of the year.

2. Rhinestones

Bling is in for 2022! Use some rhinestones around your eyes and even on your collarbones for the extra sparkle you’ll love for the year. You can find this bling at specific makeup stores, big box stores, or even costume stores.

3. Red-Based Tones

Specifically orange, red, and coral, these red-based tones will be all the rage. Grab some lip colors in these shades to pull in the bold lip or get some eyeliner in these shades to go with the bold eyeliner trend.

4. Soft/Satin Skin

In the past, there’s been matte skin, dewy skin, bare skin… The list goes on and on. This year, soft/satin skin is in. What does this mean? This trend is right between dewy and matte without using a ton of makeup. For this, focus on BB and CC creams, or lightweight foundations and powders.

5. Bold Eyeliner

This 80s and 90s trend is coming back to life. For this trend, there are a couple of different ways to do it. You can do designs such as intense cat eyes, geometric shapes, and fun patterns. Or, you can use bright colors such as coral, pink, blue, purple… If it’s bright, add it to your collection.

6. Draped Blush

This trend has been around for a while but has become more popular recently. We know about shaping using bronzer and/or contour, but did you know you can create the same effect using blush? Instead of applying it just on the apples of your cheeks, sweep the color from your temple across your cheekbone.

7. Lifted Brows

Eyebrows have probably been one of the most commonly-changed makeup trends. From thin brows to thick brows to brushed brows to defined brows, there are so many trends that have passed. But, for 2022, the trend is lifted brows. To do this, invest in brow gel or brush-on brow color and then brush your brows up and set them like that. For darker brows, you most likely won’t need to add much color. For lighter brows, find a lighter-colored product so they still look natural, but noticeable.

Makeup is ever-changing and sometimes it can be hard to keep up with what’s popular. But, with these new and easy-to-do trends, you can stay on top of the makeup game while still looking super chic.

The Top 7 Makeup Trends to Try This Winter

With 2021 coming to a quick close, it’s time to evaluate what makeup looks will be hot this winter. We’ve seen some trends coming back into play – specifically looks from the 80s and 90s like bright colors and dark eyeliner. So, with that being said, here are seven makeup trends that will be making a debut or a comeback for the winter that you won’t want to miss.

1. Draped Blush

Draped blush is blush that is applied from your temples down to the apples of your cheeks (the front most part). This technique is applied similarly to contour and makes your face appear slimmer.

2. Metallic Eyes

This trend is exactly what it sounds like. This winter, grab some metallic eye shadows, such as gold and silver, and apply them directly to your top lid. You can also sweep some directly underneath your bottom lashes, as well, for an elevated look.

3. Wine-Stained Lips

With the return of lip stains, the new winter lip trend is wine-stained lips. This essentially means darker red lip colors, which you can purchase at any place you buy your other makeup. The best part is, these colors can come in whatever style you’re looking for – stains, mattes, and glosses, to name a few.

4. Embellished Eyes

Another winter eye trend is embellished eyes. This can mean large glitter, rhinestones, gems, jewels… You can go as crazy or as tame on this as you want. Invest in some eye-friendly stick-on gems or jewels to add a whole other dimension to your makeup look.

5. Icy Shadow

This winter will also focus on cooler colors for eye shadows. This means lighter blues, whites, and silvers. If you want to combine some trends, purchase some light blue shadow, silver metallic shadow, and some gems for an altogether next-level, trendy look.

6. Fluffy Brows

It seems like eyebrow trends change at the drop of a hat. In the 2000s, the trend was extremely thin brows. After that, brows went from sharply angled to round to untrimmed to now fluffy. For this look, try and grow your brows out (minus the unibrow) and brush them up with an eyebrow brush. For extra hold, you can purchase clear eyebrow gel that will keep your brows looking fluffy all day long.

7. Heavy Eyeliner

This look has been back and forth through the years but has made a pretty large comeback as of recently. For this look, invest in some black, brown, and even dark purple eyeliner and line the top and bottom waterline, as well as the top lid.

Winter 2021 into 2022 will be an exciting time to think outside the box when it comes to makeup and beauty. If you’re ready to try some trends you may not normally try, go to your local makeup or drug store and see what inexpensive products you can purchase to experiment with.

5 Rising Trends in the Makeup Industry

Makeup has been used for centuries by people from all walks of life. In ancient times, makeup was not only used for beauty but protection as well. Ancient Egyptians believed that using kohl as eyeliner protected them from the sun rays and stares that would bring bad luck, i.e., the Evil Eye. Modern makeup endeavors improve a person’s appearance, protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays, and delay aging. Some current trends when it comes to makeup are;

Focus on Skincare

People are more conscious of their health habits now more than ever. Besides eating healthy foods, drinking enough water, and exercising, skincare is a big part of a healthy individual. There are supplements for healthy skin as well as regimes that people follow each day. For instance, the Korean 10-step regimen is quite popular. And as you know makeup in Korea is quite developed, and that is why mostly all the affordable and high quality makeup and skincare products are made in Korea.People are now more concerned about taking care of their skin and using makeup to add to natural beauty hence minimalist makeup.

Use of Organic Ingredients

Organic makeup is made free from synthetic additives. There has been a shift in the way makeup is manufactured. We now prefer to look good and protect the environment at the same time. This has prompted manufacturers to use non-synthetic materials in products. The use of biodegradable packaging containers is also part of organic makeup. Brands are being held accountable for their ethical practices when manufacturing. For example, if the products are cruelty-free, meaning that they have not been tested on animals. Organic makeup is believed to contain more nutrients that nourish the skin. Women and men alike want to use clean makeup products that won’t risk their health.

Semi-Permanent Makeup

If you lead a busy life with little to no time to do your makeup in the morning, then semi-permanent makeup has you covered. You can get your nails done by adding acrylics and gel polish that lasts longer than regular nail polish. With the introduction of microblading and microshading, your eyebrows can now always look great at any time. An eyebrow technician with the best permanent makeup machine can give you brows that require little to no attention after the healing process. Wearing masks has become a necessity in modern times. To avoid smudging every time you take off your mask, you can opt for semi-permanent lip blushing. You can have false lashes added to your natural eyelashes for fuller and longer brows to achieve this effect. If you decide to get all the above procedures done, it takes less time to get ready in the morning.

Rise in Self-Care and Personalized Packages

In the year 2020, when the pandemic hit, we all had to stay indoors to keep safe. This meant that we couldn’t go to a beauty spa for our regular facial and thus the rise in do-it-yourself alternatives. Most people had to rely on products they had made themselves due to lack of access to products they were accustomed to. As we are slowly getting back to interactions, makeup brands are now offering personalized packages instead of a one size fits all approach. You can now go to your favorite online store, take a test and get makeup selected to fit your needs. We all used our laptops more than usual during the pandemic. Makeup brands make products that protect your skin from the free radicals emitted by blue light that cause sagging and dark spots. You can get a foundation or sunscreen to protect you from blue light that you should wear even when indoors.

Illusion Makeup

This is a new and popular trend that has gained momentum in recent times. With illusion makeup, the artist can draw anything the client desires. This type of makeup is popular in the performing arts and, more so during Halloween. The final result can be confusing to look at and even dizzying. A makeup artist can transform a person’s face to look like five pairs of eyes or like a skull. Certain artists have made a name for themselves from the intricate illusions they are able to create.

These trends have been given rise by current events such as the pandemic and also a desire to do better for ourselves and the environment.

The Wonder of Wonderskin’s 8-Minute Face Mask

Because who doesn’t love a new face mask?

With the winter months coming, I think we all can agree that our skin will need a little TLC. Between the cold temperatures, dry weather, and brutal wind, your skin will most likely take a beating during the season. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t revive it. Let me present to you the IT’S A MIRACLE 8 Minute Mask from Wonderskin (brought to you by an affiliate marketing company, OAK Digital).

Now, I know what you’re thinking… What makes this different than all the other face masks on the market? Let’s start with the company.

Wonderskin is a beauty company that sells makeup and skincare products. Their ingredients stay skin-healthy and all products are designed with the condition of your skin in mind. The company chooses beauty experts and pros to develop products and formulas that are actually good for your skin.

The science behind it definitely doesn’t lie.

Wonderskin has also had its fair share of exposure. The brand has been featured in pretty high-up media sources – the Wall Street Journal, US Weekly, Today, Allure, Byrdie, and People Magazine, to name a few. Users and reviewers have raved about their products, so, naturally, I had to give it a go myself.

I was sent their beauty mask to review, and I was skeptical at first.

For a retail price of $39.50, I had some pretty high expectations. The box I received came with eight individually-wrapped packets that are the perfect size for one use – not to mention, very easy to travel with.

In the words of the website, “Picture this: tighter, smoother, more even-toned skin in minutes that stays incredible-looking for hours. It’s not a dream! It’s our IT’S A MIRACLE 8 Minute Mask for face, neck, and hands. Featuring our unique InvisiMatrix complex, this quickie treatment forms an invisible water-repellent layer on skin that lifts, tightens, and blurs so all the little things that bug you (fine lines, crepiness, spots, rough texture) are less visible for hours afterwards. Packed with vitamin C, niacinamide, and other all-star ingredients, it also improves skin’s softness and appearance over time with twice-weekly use. Each single-dose packet ensures you get a fresh, potent formula with every application.”

This mask seemingly has it all, but what does the skin say?

The mask was a white, paste-like consistency with little granules in it for exfoliation. When applying it, it instantly made my skin tingle. I have naturally sensitive skin, so really any mask will tingle for me. As it dried, I started feeling a cool sensation on my skin – and the feeling grew as I took it off. By the time it was all off of my skin, I felt like I had dunked my face in a bucket of ice water – but not in a bad way.

My skin instantly felt rejuvenated.

Here’s the bottom line: although a little pricey, this mask is good for a one-time fix – that’s even what it’s advertised as. With a majority of face masks, you need to use them for a certain amount of time before seeing results. With this 8-minute mask, the results were instant.

My only note would be that if your skin is sensitive, do a patch test beforehand.

Overall, Wonderskin really knocked it out of the park with this. Check out other products made by the company and see how you can start introducing new and improved items into your skincare routine.

Remember: taking care of your skin is not a “one size fits all” (or all of the time). Just as the seasons change, so should your skincare routine based on the conditions around you. For the winter months, consider investing in a moisturizer for drier skin. In the summer, look for a BB or CC cream that has extra SPF. Whatever you do, take good care of your skin – you’ll thank me later.
