10 New Makeup Trends and Products to Try for Spring 2022

Y2K is back (kinda).

2021 focused mainly on 80s and 90s makeup, while the spring of 2022 will bring out trends from Y2K. Thankfully, you may be able to recycle some of the products you used and incorporate them in these new looks.

1. Pinks

2021 mainly focused on cool tones such as blues, greys, and purples. For this season, pink is in. This could mean eyeshadow, eyeliner, bright lips, and everything in between. Kylie Cosmetics has introduced a Valentine’s Day collection that will exceed your wildest pink fantasies.

2. Heavy Blush

Last season, draped blush was in. What is draped blush, you may ask? It’s all in the placement. In short, draped blush is applied where contour is usually applied – a little lower than the apple of your cheekbones. This season, take it to the next level, and don’t be scared to apply a little extra! FENTY BEAUTY (shout out to Rihanna) released a new collection of vibrant blushes that will be perfect for this look.

3. Glossy Lips

In line with Y2K fashion, glossy lips will be making a comeback. Not only that, e.l.f. Cosmetics just launched a Dunkin’ Donuts collab that features two new gloss colors. The shades are simply labeled Dunkin’ Orange and Dunkin’ Pink to follow the iconic colors of the coffee and donut shop franchise.

4. Color Coordination

This season, try and purchase some clothes that match the color of your makeup. If you can, try and get an eyeshadow palette that has at least one pan of every color, that way you’ll have each one right at the tip of your fingers. Juvia’s Place just released a new 30-color shadow palette with both matte and shimmer options that are bound to match up with the main color in whatever outfit you’re wearing.

5. Neon Liners

Using neon eyeliner is hands-down one of the easiest ways to make it look like you spent way longer on your makeup than you actually did. Morphe’s Lucky Charms collab has a 6-color set of vibrant liners that will bring a pop of color to your eyes in just a few seconds.

6. Double Winged Liner

If you’re lucky enough to have a steady hand when it comes to applying winged liner, this trend is for you. If not, this would be a great time to learn! Give it a go with the new Benefit Cosmetics precision waterproof liquid eyeliner. For examples of double-winged eyeliner, Pinterest is a great place to look, as well as YouTube for tutorials.

7. Thin/Light Eyebrows

If there’s one thing makeup lovers know, it’s that eyebrow trends come and go in the blink of an eye. Recent trends included fluffy brows, natural brows, thick brows… And now, thin brows are back (think younger Christina Aguilera on the red carpet). If you decide to go with this trend, just know that it does take a fairly long time for brows to grow back to their natural shape. However, if you do want to participate, FLOWER Beauty has introduced a new brow pencil with a thin tip that will give you that precision needed for thin brows.

8. Popping Inner Corner

This may be one of the easiest (and quickest) trends to do. To get that wide-awake, ready-for-the-day look, a light highlighter or light silver eyeshadow will be your best bet. To achieve the look, I would recommend ColourPop’s Super Shock Highlight in shade Monster.

9. Under Eye Placement

This trend is perfect for a night on the town. If you’re looking for a wow factor, this is the way to do it. There’s a look called the reverse cat eye which is exactly what it sounds like – you do your winged eyeliner under your eye instead of on your eyelid. Remember, you don’t have to make it as thick – you only need a thin line. KIKO Milano has a khol liner with a fine tip for those thinner lines you’ll need.

10. Face Gems

If you’re really looking to branch out, this trend is for you. However, this won’t work with any gems you find – make sure you grab ones that are specific for your face or body. Benefit Cosmetics sells face and body gems that will fit any look you’re going for.

Makeup trends come and go quickly – that’s what makes them fun. If you’re ready to jump into the looks, you can also Google “Y2K fashion and makeup” and really see how Y2K affected the beauty world.

Nine Adjustments You Can Make For A More Sustainable Spring

Spring has sprung. So why not make it a more sustainable Spring? After all, now is the time to get into a renewed sense of self for the season. So here are a few ways to reduce your carbon footprint as you step into Spring.

Add Sustainable Clothing Items To Your Wardrobe

Look to add just a few basics to the mix. Here are some sustainable brands to try. Outerknown has a complete line of flannels, jumpers shorts and shirts for women. Check out their blanket shirts and jumpsuits for unique looks. If you are in the market for some ethical jeans check out white denim, cute dresses, shorts and all styles of denim at Ethica. Reasonably priced denim with the earth in mind.  Pair them with some Allbirds sustainable running shoes and you are ready to jump into the season.

Christy Dawn is taking sustainable clothing one step further. Check out their farm to closet program. Where every dress that you purchase helps farmers regenerate crops that continue to thrive.

Go Earth Friendly As You Spring Clean

There are so many cleaning products out there. However, finding ones that are more planet friendly can also be a chore. Good Home Co has cleaning supplies that raise the aromatherapy factor and pristinely clean your home while consciously honoring Mother Earth.

Sustainable Scents

Look to companies like Lush and Boiess to offer sweet smelling scents that are healthy for you and your younger ones in the house. Check out the White Blossom scent from Boiess that is prebiotic and vitamin infused with only natural ingredients.

Make Picnics Your Sustainable Staycation

Pack up the picnic toys, bikes, wander and roam planet friendly play mats and head to the park. Why spend money on travel and gas when your escape is waiting for you in your local community?

Reduce Energy Costs In The Home

Are you a restless sleeper? The bed temperature has an impact on your sleep and how often you wake up to turn the cool air and heat up and down. Look for a more sustainable solution with Aricove. They have weighted bamboo blankets that are both eco friendly and energy efficient, keeping you cool and cozy.

Ditch The Gym For Some Outdoor Exercise

Hiking, running and biking are great ways to get outside and get moving without excessive travel time and gas money. Travel by foot for a long walk in your neighborhood. Or grab that yoga mat and take your online class outside.

Eco Friendly Beauty

Seemingly pricey beauty procedures can sometimes have a lasting affect on the planet. In a good way. For instance, laser hair removal  can be expensive up front but in the long term can save on longer showers, razor and shave cream purchases.

Choosing vegan and cruelty free beauty products  that come in sustainable packaging is a more eco friendly Spring solution for your beauty routine.

Go Vegan

Missed out on Veganuary? Use seitan on your spring salad and vegan meats on your grill. Going vegan is the kindest way to support animals and Mother Earth.

Plan An Eco Friendly Vacation

If you are going somewhere, look for the best ways to reduce your carbon footprint. Reef safe suntan lotion pairs well with sustainable swimwear. Try booking non stop flights whenever you can as it is the taking off and landing that makes the carbon footprint. Road tripping? Rent a hybrid or electric vehicle and choose eco friendly hotel options.

Ten Of The Latest Fitness Trends for Spring

All industries evolve, but the fitness industry does so faster than most. With the effects of the pandemic, that pace of evolution has been given an even greater boost. So, what are the next big things in the fitness world as we move into spring? Here are ten fitness trends that are set to take over as we head into the warmer months.

Virtual Training

Online workouts came into their own during the height of the lockdowns. During that time many gyms muddled their way through as they quickly adapted to the new platform. Now the virtual training experience is more streamlined and a lot of people are discovering that they can get a far more convenient, cheaper workout that is just as effective as physically going to a gym. As a result, virtual training, both in terms of gym group classes and personal training one on one sessions, will continue to grow as we move into spring.

Gamification

The merging of entertainment and exercise is set to continue in the next few months as exercisers demand a more interactive and engaging workout experience. Fitness gamification, otherwise known as ‘exertainment’, is being led by such apps as Zwift, a cycle training platform that allows you to compete against world champions, and the Aviron interactive rowing machine, which provides games, competitions, and challenges that are so engaging that you forget that you’re exercising.

Gym Rebound

With the removal of mask and lockdown mandates across the world, we’re set to see a rush back to commercial gyms. While regular members returning will comprise a large chunk of those coming through the doors, there will also be a lot of people spurred on by the pandemic to try the gym experience for the first time. Many of them will be more focused on general health improvement to boost their immunity and lower the risk of disease than changing their body shape for its own sake.

Shorter, More Intense Workouts

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), involving short sharp intense workouts that see you alternating between all-out sprints and even shorter rest periods, will become more and more popular in the next few months. People are wanting their fitness to be more streamlined, more time-efficient, and more effective and HIIT workouts tick all of those boxes.

Yoga, Pilates, and Barre

With an ever-increasing number of people working from home, we are seeing more people suffering from aches and pains. According to research conducted by Nuffield Health, 7 out of 10 remote workers experience back or leg pain regularly.

Many people are integrating yoga, pilates, or barre classes into their routine to combat these problems. The majority of them are taking classes online, allowing them to get a 20-minute break from their work, grab a quick shower and then get back to the computer. In the coming months, more men who work from home are likely to make use of these classes, which have traditionally been dominated by women.

Rise of the Celebrity Trainer

The virtual training boom during the pandemic has created celebrities out of several fitness trainers. Les Mills’ 2021 global report referred to these ones as ‘rock star’ trainers, noting that the trainer was the most important factor that people considered when choosing a fitness class. As a result, gyms will start to push the identity of their star trainers and we are likely to see merchandising and massive social media marketing around these new fitness celebrities.

Indoor Rowing

During the pandemic, many people who have been searching for the best form of indoor exercise to incorporate full-body training while also burning a lot of calories have settled on the rowing machine. According to ‘Brand Rated’, there was a 990% increase in online searches for rowing machines between July 2020 and 2021. The most popular rowing machines over the last year have been those that incorporate advanced interactive features, such as the Hydrow, which provides a 22 inch-HD touchscreen and gives you access to more than 3,000 workouts.

Golf for Fitness

After two years of being locked inside our homes, the idea of strolling around the greens, breathing fresh air, and hitting a small ball with a few buddies seems pretty inviting. That may be why golf clubs across the US are seeing a huge increase in visitors under the age of 30. Another sport that may have been considered ‘upper crust’ that is seeing huge growth in the younger demographic is tennis. As the summer months approach, we are set to see more and more people choosing golf and tennis as their exercises of choice.

Nex Gen Wearables

The fitness tracker phenomenon may have had its day, but now a new, more sophisticated generation of fitness wearable is taking hold. An example is the Apple Watch 7.0 which incorporates such advanced monitoring tools as a blood oxygen sensor. The pandemic has heightened our awareness of tracking bodily data that we would have never previously considered, so expect to see more advanced and detailed bodily tracking gadgets emerge onto the market.

Sleep Optimization

Another outgrowth of our pandemic experience has been a growing concern with improving sleep quality. This has led to a boom in the sleep optimization industry which is set to increase. Tracking devices such as the Oura Ring allow you to monitor such variables as your respiratory rate, body temperature changes, and heart rate variability while you’re sleeping. These stats are processed to provide you with a readiness score to determine your level of refreshment and recovery when you get out of bed.

Summary

As we move in spring, the trends that have evolved out of the pandemic will continue to gain steam. People are demanding workouts that are more interactive, shorter, more immersive, and more geared toward optimizing their overall health rather than just their physical appearance.

Fashion Pieces You REALLY Need This Spring

It can be so overwhelming after watching endless Tik Toks or reading blogs, so I gladly summarized the iconic pieces in under four minutes.

In the world of fashion, it can be so intimidating to keep up with the trends. Personally, I don’t keep up with each trend, but I do incorporate some of my favorites into my style. Remember that the way you dress does not define who you are and you should not change your style to stay up to date. I compiled a few of my current favorite trends and/or things I already have in my closet that still can be “trendy.”

Denim

Denim is so easy! What you already have in your closet you can mix and match, cut up, or wear differently. As most of you know, my generation has called out skinny jeans, so if you want to hop off that trend, here are a few styles you can start with:

Target has a great selection of boyfriend jeans. Most of mine are bought there; the Wild and Fable brand is my favorite. Francesca’s carries the best mom jeans that are actually stretchy for your thighs. I like their Harper brand because they are like a cheaper dupe for American Eagle. My favorite part about Harper jeans is the variety of shades, styles, and lengths they offer. Once you feel comfortable in boyfriend and mom jeans, try out the wide-legged denim by shopping at H&M or Princess Polly. I think they offer a great variety of jeans you can try out and wear this spring season.

Denim jeans are not the only staple you need this spring – you need a denim jacket for layering your looks! A jean jacket can change the entire vibe of your look, taking it from formal to casual chic. I like pairing light-washed denim jackets with pastel, neutral, and darker clothing. If you wear warm tones, blues, or shades of green, try wearing a darker shade of denim. Adding layers to your look adds depth and definition to your figure. My favorite denim jackets are at your local TJMaxx or anywhere that sells Levi’s jackets.

Neutrals

Neutrals are great colors to add to your wardrobe. What I have been purchasing lately have been graphic tees, outwear, shorts, and dresses. I love muted and nude tones of neutral colors because they contrast with my olive skin tone. As a Latina, I love colors that can really bring out my skin color when the weather gets warmer.

Find a shade that makes your skin feel the most beautiful and the most confident in. Once you’ve done that, don’t be afraid to reach for ivory and sand tones. These are great colors to mix darker or warmer-toned clothing with. Lighter colors will add dimension to your look and they are great to mimic the light flowers that bloom.

Chunky Shoes

Before you completely skip this paragraph, allow me to ease you into this trend. I actually was inspired by Rosalia’s chunky white shoes she would perform in. This was a trend I slowly saw unfold at the end of 2019. Well, it made its way back around but with a variety of shoes and styles.

If you have been to your local Target, there are a variety of chunky sandals and wedges on display. Whether you are a sneaker or sandal type of gal, try adding some height to your favorite look with these shoes. I am 5’7 and, although for so long I was afraid of being taller, this trend has helped me come out of that fear. I like to add chunky sneakers to my “running errands” look or to a casual t-shirt dress. My favorite places to shop for chunky shoes are Princess Polly, DSW, or Fila. They offer different styles of shoes and Fila sneakers that are so comfortable.

Small Purses

Accessories are important for every outfit – whether it’s casual or dressy. They tie the entire outfit together. Small purses have been on my timeline 24/7 lately and I am not mad about it. I grew up wearing small purses like mini clutches, cross bodies, or clear bags. My current obsessions are the small leather purses and jelly crossbodies.

When I am wearing a lounge set or a simple jean and tee look, I always wear my leather crossbody. And, when I am dressing up just a tad more, I pair it with a jelly crossbody. These bags are not hard to find – my current jelly bag is from Aubrey’s Attic Co. (a local Kansas City online boutique). You can also find a variety of bags on Zara, H&M, or Princess Polly.

Shades

The sun is literally my best friend in the summer. I love getting a good tan, going on a hike, or just having dinner on a patio. Another fun accessory to pair with your outfit is some bold and colorful shades. I love a simple aviator shape, circle shape, or an oversized square shape.

My favorite places to get shades are from Quay, Francesca’s, or a local boutique. They always offer quality and most of them are under $50! I worked at Francesca’s for years, so their two-for-$14 deal is to die for. I have had these aviator pairs since 2018 – they have gone to Central America, Europe, and the West Coast and back. They truly are worth the under $20 hype and you get to choose another pair, too!

Spring is a fun season to mix and match trends, add some bold accessories, and play with new looks. Try something you have been wanting to try out, whether it’s in style or not because, at the end of the day, it’s your style! Express yourself with your clothing and don’t be afraid to show up overdressed.

Spring Blooming

Spring is a bouquet of new beginnings and a reminder of how our times of darkness are never as permanent as they seem. Warmer weather and flowers in bloom don’t just make this world a brighter, more colorful place. They shake us awake from the various forms of slumber that take hold of us in winter.

How crazy it is to think of who we were even only a few weeks ago! Whether it was physically bundled up in defense against the elements, or locked away mentally in attempts to weather internal storms, today, I hope, is different. I look back, an act of quiet privilege, to see how growth has shifted me further and further from what once felt so permanent. The shiver against the cold has left my body, and though I remember its chill, the warmth of today feels all the more welcoming.

We speak so often of happiness, something as fleeting as our seasons, but I think our focus is sorely misplaced. You see, people want the state of happiness like they want warm weather. Are we not the same people who dredge through the summer months as well? I can picture us now, soaked through our clothes and brows permanently slick with perspiration.

Like hot and cold, life’s challenges ebb and flow, and to want for one is to unknowingly beg the invitation of the other.

To chase happiness is to chase a feeling that we tie to a certain day or moment in our lives where it seemed like cold or even brutally hot days would never again surface. You can cling to that for as long as you want, so long as you realize you will be forever subservient to an idea, a yesterday that has come and gone.

Instead of happiness, like a new spring each year, I yearn for growth. Truthfully, it’s within growing that we gain new understandings of peace – something well beyond the limits of a happiness that once served us. Discover the peace of letting go of the idea of chasing happiness, and realize it’s right here, regardless of the weather.

I’ve always dreamt of an eternal spring.

To bottle the energy, sights, and smells of this season would be like capturing our closest slice of utopia. However, to bottle spring without an inkling of winter or summer or fall, would be like getting all dressed up to sit on the floor of your living room. There would be no substance, no reason to rise to the occasion and step into the warmth we all so dearly cherish.

This winter, especially, seemingly drawing to no end, has made me appreciative of the need for seasons; the need for change. I savor every day, even the gloomy ones, more knowing that the world I see today is constantly changing. The tears we shed today will be gone tomorrow, the snow that once blocked our paths will melt away, and the flowers will bloom. Those flowers, though they will leave us, or even precisely because they will leave us, bring joy.

It’s in seeing the beauty of a world that starts again; in life that opens up in the aftermath of winter’s hostility, that I see our lives are not much different.

With each season I feel myself growing closer and closer to something I can’t even put words to yet. I remember once spending my days worrying about if I would ever grow, and now I simply marvel at what I’ve grown into. That’s my favorite part about all of this, and I see it reflected in the world around me as I see flowers blooming in places I would never have expected. I see colors where I once saw barren nothingness.

In my life, as I know thanks to the nature around me, other seasons rest around the corner, waiting to instill even more growth. There will be sunny, tormenting, and unbearable days, where I fly too close to the sun, foolishly thinking I won’t get burned. Cooler temperatures in fall will show me respite, but also leave me wishing the colors that once adorned the trees would stay evermore. Finally, and most certainly, there will be winter yet again. There will be darkness and frost that freezes over many of the things I cherish.

Of course, this is all for a reason, and, yet again, we will bloom in spring.

3 Great Ways to Enjoy Spring

It is important to get out and enjoy your surroundings and nature this Spring! After being locked in my home for so long due to quarantine, I have never had more of an urge to get outside to simply just get outside and enjoy my surroundings. This spring is the perfect time for that! It has almost been a full year since America has not been completely open so here are three reasons why you should get outdoors and enjoy spring now.

1. Be in Awe of Nature

I think that nature reminds us of the simple beautiful things in life. We see nature all around us, but when do we really take the time to get off of our electronics and enjoy it? Nature is something so significant because nature is one thing that is out of our control, but we can just enjoy it. The fact that something as simple as fresh green grass or small flowers is impossible for us humans to create from scratch just blows my mind.

I think that nature is so complex, but appears to be simple. There are so many things in nature that leave me in awe. For example, lately, I have been in awe of bees and the simple fact that they can literally make honey for us. The fact that something as small as a bee can produce products for us humans is so mesmerizing to me. Also, I have been taken aback by the grandness of the ocean and how 80% of it is undiscovered, yet we can go visit the ocean but have no idea what is actually in there. We are only aware of things close to the shore.

I feel that spring is the perfect time to take in and learn more about nature since spring is the season of growth and the weather is beginning to warm up. Now is the time to be in awe of nature and the things around us – especially since we are hopefully moving away from COVID restrictions.

2. Take Advantage of the Warm Weather by Working Out Outside

Personally, I love working out because it makes me feel like I am being productive, and I know that the right workouts are beneficial to my overall health. These past couple of months, I have been working out indoors because the weather has been colder. I will not complain too much, though, because I live in Florida and I know that some states get a lot colder than it does here.

With that being said, now is the perfect time to outdoors and be active. For me, I love going on runs outside compared to running inside because I always burn more calories. Overall, I prefer to workout outdoors because I sweat more; meaning that I am burning more fat and the more I sweat, the harder I feel that I worked. If you want, you can even find some friends who will work out with you outside or you can start a workout group. The warm weather always motivates my friends and me to be active outside!

3. Other Spring Outdoor Activities

Other than working out and taking in nature, I have been doing tons of outdoor activities with friends and by myself. I have been enjoying getting some food and eating outside in a quiet safe place. For me, I live on a college campus, so I usually find a quiet area to sit and eat. During the time I am eating, I usually stick in my AirPods and watch some Netflix or Youtube in the warm weather. I usually like to eat lunch alone outdoors because it gives me time to regather my thoughts throughout a busy day.

In addition, I LOVE to paint with my friends outdoors. I am no artist at all when it comes to painting, but I enjoy talking with friends while painting. Sometimes, I follow simple paint tutorials on Pinterest so that I can get some ideas flowing of what to paint.

5 Handbags You Need To Spring Yourself Into

It is now officially spring, and that means it’s time to switch that dark winter bag for something a bit more bright and cheery! Finding the right bag is HARD, Choosing between bags is HARD! The second struggle you run into is the price at the register. When you get a new bag, you want it to last! Yes, it’s super easy to run to target and pick out a new purse! I mean come on, its target it’s super cute and totally affordable. If you are looking for something designer for this spring that won’t break the bank, here is a list of this year’s spring colors with some of the best places to get the deals!

Yellow

I don’t know about you, but nothing screams happy and bright other than yellow. You can be as bold and as subtle as you want with this one, neon yellow? Go for it! Sunflower yellow or something with a more honey tone. Whatever you want!

Olive Green

This color is a great neutral that can go with wearing either black or browns! It’s a complete boss babe color and gives you a bit of an edge!  One of my favorites is the Prarie satchel from coach, the shade is called Kelp! (unique right?) What stands out to me with this bag is that it comes with gunmetal hardware instead of gold!

Aqua

Bright and pretty, crystal blue! Come on, I know we all went through the aqua and teal phase in middle school! Can you say #Throwback? It’s time we bring it back considering we know how to PROPERLY accessorize!

Reds

No matter the shade, you are going with a color that is classic and timeless. Red is truly a color that will never go out of style so it is no surprise that you can wear this color year round! For this spring seriously consider getting a bright red bag!

Soft Pink

The lighter the shade the better! Pink is such a cute color, one thing you have to be careful with, with pink is the shade. It can be put with so many colors but you should proceed with caution when picking out the shade. You can never go wrong with a light pink!

Makeup Colors, Trends, & Products That Are Perfect for Spring

Despite some of the cold weather that blew through March, spring feels like it has officially sprung. One of the most exciting things about the new season is new colors for the next few months. Whether it’s with clothes, shoes, accessories, or makeup, the beauty world has blossomed with new colors and trends.

The 2021 colors for spring will be based on “hope and optimism” and “playful thinking.” Instead of focusing on pastels like past seasons, this year will feature bright colors – Marigold, Burnt Coral, Raspberry Sorbet, Illuminating (yellow), Amethyst Orchid, and French Blue to name a few. Neutral and earthy colors are also included featuring Ultimate Gray, Desert Mist, Dark Mint, and Buttercream. So, what does that mean for makeup trends? Read on.

Emerald Smokey Eye

Instead of going with the classic black and grey smokey eye, jump into the emerald trend that is blooming this year. Revolution PRO has created the ultimate emerald palette ($15) with four shades that range from mattes to shimmers. If you’re looking for a wider shade range, Makeup Revolution sells the 18-shade palette called Forever Flawless ($15) that is made with cannabis sativa seed oil.

Bright Monochromatics

Take into account the colors of Raspberry Sorbet and Illuminating and find eyeshadows, eyeliners, and lip colors in the same bright shades. Makeup Revolution created a 28-high pigment shadow palette, Revolution X Patricia Bright Rich in Color ($25), that has bright neons and sparkles. Smashbox sells highly pigmented lip colors ($22) that feature bright purples and pinks to match whatever shadow you pick.

Blue Lashes

The 90s called and they’re looking for their groovy styles back. Not only are brights making a comeback, but blue eye makeup, specifically, is coming in hot. If you’re looking to hop on the 90s train, ColourPop makes a blue mascara ($8) that perfectly encompasses this year’s spring trend.

Bold Blush

Keep the bright theme going and find some bright, bold blushes. Milk Makeup makes a lip and cheek color stick ($15) in colors like Coral and Bright Pink. This product is a personal favorite and goes on beautifully. The formula is like butter and will leave your cheeks popping in just a few swipes.

Purple Liner

Much like the blue lashes, the purple liner is making a 90s comeback. L’Oreal Paris created the Infallible Pro-Last Pencil Eyeliner ($8) in purple that is waterproof and smudge-proof – perfect for the warming weather. With a gel-like formula, the product is perfect for tightlining.

Sparkles

Another thing that has made its way to the top of the trend list is sparkles – specifically on the eyes. Whether you’re looking for a light shimmer or heavy glitter, there are products that are perfect for the look you’re going for. If you’re looking for glitter, Urban Decay released a 12-color palette, Stoned Vibes ($27), that features glitter in green, purple, blue, and more. If you’d rather go with a lighter shimmer, BH Cosmetics created a Blueberry Muffin 16-color palette ($18) with pigmented shimmer colors.

Heavy Highlight

Coming from someone whose favorite makeup is highlight, this trend is one of my favorites. There are so many types of highlighters out there – pressed powder, gel, liquid, sticks… Just pick your favorite and you’re good to go. If you’re looking for a quick application from a pressed powder, Ofra Cosmetics has one of the highest ratings on the Ulta website. My personal favorite is ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter that comes in a creamy packed gel-like powder. It’s easy to blend and gives a perfect shine.

Spring has sprung! With these new makeup trends, you’ll be prepared for spring, along with collecting some really great products that you can use for a long time.
