Planning a girls trip can be equal parts exciting and stressful, so we’re here to hopefully take away some of that stress to help you choose the right apartment for your time away! We’re taking you through each of the steps from deciding where to go initially right through to the final checks you should be doing before you confirm your booking, so get ready to feel more confident in choosing the right apartment for your girls trip.

Commit To Dates and A Budget

The first thing you should do before going any further is to commit to dates and a budget. Usually these are some of the hardest things to get people to agree on, so until you’ve done this, it’s not much use progressing any further. Start with dates and find a space where everyone is free, but perhaps give a couple of days of wiggle room either side in case the flights are much cheaper. Once you have this, set a firm travel budget for flights and accommodation, as the last thing you want is to price everything up and find the perfect flights and accommodation, only for someone to say it’s too expensive. So, establishing these things at the very beginning will make everything else more straight forward!

Arrange A Planning Night

Trying to arrange and book a holiday in a group chat is near impossible, so we’d recommend that you find a night where everyone is free and sort a planning night. Ask everyone to have a think about places they’d like to go beforehand and then narrow it down in the group chat so you have a few options when you get to planning the night. Then, once you’re all together on planning night, follow the rest of these tips to get it booked!

Think About The Type Of Trip You Want

Before you decide on a location, you need to think about the type of trip you want. Do you want a city break to visit London, a chilled all inclusive break, a party holiday to Ibiza or perhaps a mix of those things? There are plenty of locations that have a bit of everything if you want a combination of wholesome with some party elements, so just make sure you’re all on the same page about what you want from the trip then you can start deciding on some final locations.

Research The Location

Now that you’ve decided on a general area for your trip, it’s time to research the location. Look for areas in the location you’ve chosen that have everything you’re looking for, which will likely be good transport links, bars and restaurants within walking distance, fun activities nearby, some nightlife and beaches. Some areas will be much busier and touristy which you might like, whilst others will be quieter, more quaint and likely cheaper. Again, speak to the other girls and decide what everyone is looking for, then do a bit of research about the best areas within the location that will provide those things.

Start Apartment Hunting

Now that you’ve decided on the dates, your budget and the more specific location, you can start looking for apartments. There are plenty of benefits of choosing an apartment over a hotel, especially if there’s a group of you, mainly because it’s cheaper but you also get more space and also usually a kitchen, so you have the option to eat some meals in which is a great choice to have. When you’re deciding on your apartment, here are some things you should look for:

● Are there a strong number of reviews and are the majority of the reviews positive?
● How many beds are in the apartment and will that suit people’s preferences for sleeping arrangements?
● Are there a decent amount of photos on the apartment listing?
● Is there quite a lot of detail in the listing description to show that the owners care about making a good first impression?
● Are there homely finishing touches in the apartment like artwork and sofa cushion covers that will help you to feel at home?
● Do they have air conditioning or heating?
● Is it self check in?
● Will they have things like Wi-Fi, an iron, hairdryer, parking if relevant, a washing machine and towels included?
● Is the bedding in the images white? This can show that they prioritise cleanliness.
● Do they have a well stocked kitchen mentioned in the description? E.g. cooking basics like oil, salt, pepper and some herbs, good range of dishware, a decent sized fridge/freezer, an oven and a hob, tea and coffee, cleaning equipment and plenty of bin bags.
● If having some outdoor space is important to you, do they have one and are there any amenities?

These are just a few examples of things to consider when it comes to booking.

Book On Your Credit Card and Get Insurance

Once you’ve narrowed down the options for your girls trip apartment and you all agree on one, make sure that you book it using your credit card. You get additional protection when it comes to scams or any issues with your booking compared to debit cards, and so it’s always worthwhile booking this way just in case there is an issue. You should also make sure you all get holiday insurance at this point so you’re covered with plenty of time before your trip.
