5 Shows That You Must Check Out On Netflix Today

It’s been a tremendous battle trying to figure out what to watch on Netflix these past couple of months. From comedy, to family, to animated shows. There is simply to many. Netflix has many shows that have become my obsession. Like I can not stop watching them at all.

Here are the 5 Shows that I have been watching like crazy (and perhaps might have already finished watching) in no particular order.

1. One Day At A Time

This series centers around mother, Penelope, who is a separated veteran raising a son who is a clumsy and awkward teen and a feminist, strong-headed daughter. Living with them is Penelope’s mother, Lydia, who is quite handy when it comes to taking care of the kids as well as provide her services keeping the house in tip top shape. If you are a fan of comedy, drama, coming out stories, shockers, and twist, then this is the show for you. Be prepared to be taking through an emotional journey as you learn to love Penelope and her endeavors as a single mother. The entire first season is available to stream as of now.

2. Troll Hunters

If you are a fan of Dreamworks, Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, Trolls, The Croods, etc, then you’ll love Trollhunters. When James “Jim” Lake Jr, a 15 year old boy stumbles upon a ancient magical amulet on his way to school, he doesn’t realize that he is soon to be given the title of Trollhunter. He will soon be bestowed with the ability to transform into a warrior who will be given the duty as defender of the trolls, who live below the human town of Arcadia. He must learn to adapt to his new found powers, as well as learn that sometime he needs a little help from his friends the trolls as well as his human friends Tobias “Toby” and Claire, to stop the miscreants who try to dispute the peacefulness of his town. You can watch the entire first season now, if you dare.

3. Sense8

This show is quite the trip to be honest. It takes a little getting use to and it seems to cause viewers to have so many questions that take quite a few episodes to get answered. It tells the story of eight strangers, Senseates (Sense8), Sun, Nomi, Kala, Cepheus, Riley, Wolfgang, Lito, and Will, each from different parts of the word and of various cultures. One day the experience a vision of the a woman named Angelica, as she is about to kill herself, and discover they she has given birth to them, the “sensates”: normal human beings who have become linked mentally and emotionally, making them able to communicate and sense each other, as well as share their abilities, knowledge, and languages. This is definitely not a show, that can be watched with children due to it’s adult nature content. The entire first season and 2 hour christmas special is available to stream today.

4. The Series of Unfortunate Events

If you’re anything like me, you probably have heard of this story before. 13 books written by Lemony Snicker (real author Daniel Handler), which follow the lives of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire after their parents’ death in a out of nowhere fire. They are placed in the custody of a murderous relative, Count Olaf, who wants nothing to do with the children and who simply attempting to steal the children inheritance. As the children survey on unfortunate event after another, it never seems to be safe anywhere they go as Count Olaf is always a couple steps behind. With Netflix producing hour long episodes, each book being two part episodes, it seems that we will be getting a couple of seasons out of this (the movie wasn’t all too great). You can watch season one, which covers the first four books, on Netflix today.

5.Fuller House

A new take on the original series. Fuller house is set in the same house in San Francisco, California as the original series Full House. Now I did not grow up watching Full House, so at times I do not get the references, but this new Fuller House is a trip. Recently widowed D.J. Tanner-Fuller is a vet and the mother of three young boys; Jackson, Max, and Tommy. With the death of her husband, D.J. accepts the help from her sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmy (who still drives her crazy) to help take care of there three sons. Kimmy also has a daughter, Ramona, who joins the gang too. From tears and laughter to “Oh My Lanta” Fuller house is one show that is sure to keep you on your feet. You can watch both seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix today. Beware, you might end up watching all the episodes in one sitting (I know I did).
