I knew this day would come, I just never thought it would come this fast. Being your sister is such a joy even when we don’t always see eye to eye. And now that you are about to start a new chapter in your life I want you to know that I will always love you more than you even realize.
You are truly going to be the prettiest bride I have ever seen and I know you think that it’s because your sister that I have to say it, but I don’t. The smile on your face is so genuine and bright, I can truly see how happy you are to be marrying the love of your life today.
You’ve found that someone who is going to stick beside you through thick and thin and I couldn’t be happier for you. You’re blessed that a love most people spend forever searching for is right in front of you. You found that “can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the moon” kind of love and there’s not a soul on this earth that deserves it more than you.
I imagine you’re feeling a ton of emotions all at once: excitement, joy, love, terror, nervousness, anxiety and that emotion that you can’t ever name but is just always at the heel of your feet.
Go ahead and look at yourself in the mirror, adjust your dress, pick at your bouquet, fidget with your fingers and take it all in. Soak in all of these moments because the day is going to go by so quickly.
And I know you’re excited for all of the events of the day and you’ll never want it to end, but let me tell you the best is still yet to come.
Because the love you’ve found runs deeper than just one day. It’s waking up every morning next to you best friend. It’s never having to second guess, to worry or wonder if you’ll ever get it right. It’s the feeling you get every time he looks at you, the emotions that come over you every single time you look down at your new ring.
It’s about creating memories with the love of your life forever. In case you didn’t know forever is a really long time. For some people forever can be scary not knowing what can happen, but I’m not worried about you and your forever because I know you are in good hands.
But know that no matter where life takes you, I will always be a phone call away with an open heart and mind.
I’ll be there to listen when you need to vent, to still talk about the things he does that drive you crazy because marriage isn’t going to change that. If you’re ever scared or confused remember that I will do everything I can to calm the storms.
When you need someone to turn to I will always be that woman for you but enough about that.
I have expectations for your new husband, I hope he reminds you daily that you can accomplish anything you set your mind too, I hope he compliments you daily and always has open arms when you’ve had a rough day. I expect that he never stops treating you like the wonderful woman you are, that he values you and your opinions.
He should never stop trying to be a better version of himself for you and that he still takes you out for dates and never stops trying to win you over.
I hope he pushes you to grow and be the best woman you can be and I hope he reminds you to take a deep breath and simply enjoy the moments you have together. I am sure he isn't going to let me down on this.
Remember to take a deep breath today and please don’t let any worry cloud your mind. Take everything in and don’t let anything stand in the way of your day.
