Why Being A Best Friend Is Honestly A Huge Responsibility

Being a best friend comes naturally when you just click with someone and the rest is history. But what we don't realize though, is that it actually is a big deal. It's the biggest deal. Best friends are essential in this life, they serve such an important purpose.

But it's more than just spending a lot of time with someone, it means…

Being truly and completely there for one other through the lowest lows and highest highs. This may seem like it's no huge feat, but it totally is.

It's now knowing what to say, but still being there because you'd never let her be sad alone. But it's also screaming and jumping with her when everything is going so right.

Being brutally honest with each other, even when we don't want to hear it. If you know the 'new someone' in her life is nothing but toxic, she deserves to know.

You tell her the truth because if roles were reversed, you'd want the truth too.

Communicating openly and often, because they deserve that. If plans change, let them know right away, or if you are going to be running late let them know, don't stand them up.

You owe it to her to be open and not hide things or make up bogus excuses. Is that even friendship?

Making time for one another in the midst of all the craziness life throws at us. Not all best friends talk every day, and that's okay.

Everyone has their own lives to attend to, we all have different responsibilities, and have other friends too. But never let her feel like anything less than a priority.

Listening to each other and talking them through the worst days of life. We all go through really tough times in our lives.

When times get hard or she's having a bad day, be there for your friend. Let her know you are always available if they need to talk. It'll mean the world to her.

Supporting her through all her stupid decisions. Remember that time she thought it would be cool to sneak out and meet that rando dude at a party?

Yeah, that was dumb. But she's a live and you'll never make her feel bad for her choices… but you wouldn't let her do it again.

And most importantly, love each other to the moon and back. You're friends for a reason, you love each other unconditionally, mistakes will be made through out the friendships, but real friends stick together through thick and thin.
